Bummer....doesn't look like Friday will be drop-in day.....

The B.C. on the new converter is 4.85" and my flex plate is 5.5....or something like that. ...
Anyway, do I get a different flex plate or return the converter to Summit? They're great about returns.....

It's a 318 so neutral ballance.
Anyone wanna recommend a CORRECT part number for me?!!!
I believe this one (Hughes) is a 2200 - 2400 stall.....

Sucks, but I've waited this long, I'm gonna do it right.

SFI flywheel? Usually has a few bolt patterns just watch the ring gear tooth count.

I found this info on Jegs website. The bolt pattern circle on your flex plate is supposed to be 10". Measure your flex plate from the center of one bolt hole to the center of another bolt hole (as long as its directly across from the other). That is your bolt pattern circle. Double check and let us know.

Ok....just a sec....BRB

Flex plates are made in different configurations, you need to measure and get the proper one.

Some cranks have symmetrical bolt pattern, some non-symmetrical...

Then some torque converters have 10" bolt spread, some 11"...

Figure out if your crank is symmetrical or non-symmetrical bolt pattern, then measure the converter bolt pattern for 10" or 11", then pick out the proper flex plate here:

Mancini Racing

Measured twice. ..11.000".

I was a machinist for 25 years...I'm lucky to have 12" calipers

Mine must be the 11" symmetrical.....ugh!

At least there is an affordable solution for you... Hopefully you can order it tomorrow and they can ship it to you ASAP....
If they were open right now I'd be on the phone VISA in hand!

Thanks guys! I really appreciate it!

Jeff

Edit...wonder what overnight would cost?!!!

Remember that Mancini Racing is on Eastern time zone, and you are pacific.... They are a few hours ahead of you, if you call them on the phone...

Yup...just triple checked. ....

They are both symmetrical....
My flex plate is 11" & my new torque converter is 10"

Calling Mancini in the morning.
It's not like I don't have tons of other stuff I can do and the engine will go in NEXT week!

Probably more than the part cost....

But if it's worth it to you to get it right away, go for it... It's only $$$$..... :D

The old time vs. money issue....

Naw...I ain't gonna. ....
I'm resigned that it isn't going to happen this weekend.
Oh well....There's always other stuff to work on!
Just glad I have an answer and it's pretty inexpensive.

Jeff

I've probably bent half a dozen of the stock flexplates tearing cars and I'd give you one if I had it.
