I have a 3500 Diesel 2001 I use to tow my trailer. I have a 6000 watt 8000 surge generator that the motor is shot. I am thinking of using an ac clutch pulley and making brackets to turn the electrical generator off of my diesel and putting the plug pad on my ranch hand bumper with a cover. Anybody tried anything like this? I would set it up on a 1 to 1 pully ratio. It doesnt cost much to run my diesel at idle all day and electric at the track would be handy. Any tips or insight appreciated.

Sounds cool. Can it fit ? space wise? Work into the single belt. And can you put a solenoid onto the APPS for auto idle-up feature? Pics please if you get it figgered out.

There were several good web sites I saw a few years ago on how to do this. They were alternate energy/homesteading sites. Maybe try there.
