When I was 14 my dad moved from Montana to California with a 70 tradesman 100 van with a six and 3 on the tree. The van was fully loaded and towed a trailer with a 48 Oldsmobile also filled the max with stuff. That had to be 7500 pounds in tow and a bunch more in the van. Nuts, but it did it.

My cousin has pulled his heavy car trailer and stock car with tools,spare parts and extra tires with his intrepid a few times. You'll be fine.

I used to have a 66 D100 with a slant and either 391 or 410 gears. It pulled great across country, but the mountains gave it a little more challenge, but I just had faster cars pass me.
