Ok I wasn’t going to post this till tomorrow but I smashed my foot into my generator loading up and it needed iced down before I unload a few things. One of this weekends racers wrecked on the way to Quaker City and his BIG box trailer ended up rolling over on its side. Nick Bowman pointed out the trailer as he was leaving today and told me this is the good side. Man it was a mess but like Nick said that was nothing compared to the other side. Well they uprighted this box trailer with two dragsters inside, took a peek inside, and drove to the track to race. They was zero damage inside this trailer to the dragsters(two), tool boxes, golf cart, and everything else. Do you know why??? These guys had everything tied down and I even mean the air tank. If that was my trailer I’m not sure I would even bother taking a look and just turn around and head for home. Some people just know how to do things the right way. Might be a good time to learn a lesson.

I've always wondered about the stackers. I think one would make me nervous unless I had a LOT of truck to haul it with. (And I mean a lot more than a crew cab dually).

We haul a 45' 13 1/2 High ATC stacker with 4 full size cars BUT we use a Haulmark Sport Deck Toter with a
Volvo 500 Chassis. My New Ram Dualley would barely move it around the shop and it would be madness to
try it to the track!!

That’s definitely some food for thought John…. Naturally my car is tied down, but most everything else is free to roam so to speak. My tool cart is strapped to the wall, but how well? Golf cart is in a removable wheel chock bolted to the floor and park brake set but that’s the extent of it.

I hope we all learn something from this. Heck I have a few things in my race car that would go flying.

I remember one guy I knew, had just finished a nut and bolt rotisserie restoration on a 67 GTX Hemi. First trip to a car show he was so excited that he completely forgot to secure the car inside the trailer. First time he hit the brakes in his tow vehicle, the car slammed into the wall of the trailer. $12K damage to the fresh restoration. Hard lesson.

In 2019 a guy plowed into the back of my race trailer at a stop light in Ennis, Texas.
The trailer was totaled, the car tore away from the straps in back and was pushed to the front of the trailer into the rolling toolbox I had strapped to the front wall.
I had a battery charger bungeed to the wall on the right rear side that tore loose and scratched things up pretty good on that side of the car. Amazingly there was no frame damage to the car, mainly tail panel and both rear quarters buckled. The trailer absorbed all of the blow and there was no damage to my truck, not even the hitch!

That's terrible, but not a surprise. I can't believe the way people almost drive into my truck and enclosed trailer! It's scary out there!
