tranny kickdown adjustment

Rusty, I guess I will have to just be careful with it tomorrow. FedEx will not have that piece here till tomorrow sometime. Thanks for the info.

Lots of great information here from some very experienced and knowledgeable men.

I believe you said you do have the factory linkage on there still. They are adjustable, and maybe you can make it so it is effectively longer until you have your Lokar parts. There is a threaded adjuster and you can also bend some of the factory linkage rods to make them effectively longer.

It is very hard on Mopar transmissions not to have the lever on the transmission hooked up and properly adjusted, so that it is pushed almost all the way back to where it stops as it increases the line pressure which increases the clamping force of the clutches and bands etc under heavy load. That's where I liked the shift points on my last 727. I had the Lokar adjusting nut backed of about a turn and a half from pushing the lever all the way back. It gave good low speed shift points and good full throttle shifts.

Either way, you must run something to push the lever on the transmission back in the mean time,or you are better off not driving it until you get the Lokar set-up on there.

no, I didn't say I had the factory rods on there. I do not have any rods on here. I bought a Lokar kickdown cable and the bracket I bought that mounts on the carb is getting in the way of the throttle bracket for the throttle. so I bought a Lokar throttle cable that works off of the same bracket as the kickdown cable and I can remove the factory bracket for the throttle. It will be in tomorrow.

I will certainly try again Rusty, glad to know that people agree that it's pretty crappy of them not to sell just the bracket. Other than that one issue, they seemed to be really knowledgable and helpful. Thanks

Squeaky wheel get's the grease. Tell them flat out, like Rob said, that you posed the question on a forum in front of 35,000 potential customers. It may garner their attention.

It should be fine as long as you don't romp into it. Drive with your big toe on the gas.
