I believe you said you do have the factory linkage on there still. They are adjustable, and maybe you can make it so it is effectively longer until you have your Lokar parts. There is a threaded adjuster and you can also bend some of the factory linkage rods to make them effectively longer.
It is very hard on Mopar transmissions not to have the lever on the transmission hooked up and properly adjusted, so that it is pushed almost all the way back to where it stops as it increases the line pressure which increases the clamping force of the clutches and bands etc under heavy load. That's where I liked the shift points on my last 727. I had the Lokar adjusting nut backed of about a turn and a half from pushing the lever all the way back. It gave good low speed shift points and good full throttle shifts.
Either way, you must run something to push the lever on the transmission back in the mean time,or you are better off not driving it until you get the Lokar set-up on there.
