Are the motor mount brackets bolted to the correct side of the block's cast mounting ears?

Did you get the mount brackets for the 340/360. Different than the 318.

1 engine mount bracket is slightly different from 318 to 340/360. is the tranny mount backwards?

trans mount wont line up either way I try it and motor mounts are correct for the 340 and mounted correctly, ill take some photos today and post it tonight. thanks for the replys and suggestions.

Here's one for now but I'll take some better ones today, how far away should the block be away from the firewall?

Here's more including how far the motor is away from the firewall

You said trans "mount" won't line up either way but have you also tried the cross member and mount all possible ways?

that looks too far forward looking at firewall distance. needing those washers as spacers tell me wrong mounts.

Yeah, that's a huge gap from the firewall.
Something's off.
Your hand should barely fit back there.

Your motor mounts appear to be right. May I suggest that you loosen your trans mount to the "brace". Then jack your tranny up against floor boards. Then you should have plenty of play for the brace to line up with the four holes.

exact thing happened to me yesterday when i put the 727 in my dart, i had the trans cross member on backwards, there is a kind of rolled lip and it faces to the rear of the car
