This is my first A-body build and I am wondering if I will have to make any modification to the trans tunnel putting the 440 727 in my 74 duster. It currently has the S6 with 3 speed manual. Thanks.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but here goes...
You will need to turn the center section of the cross member around from where it is now to accomodate the trans support. 2 of it bolt holes wont quite line up. If you force it to fit with a floor jack your trans will hit the tunnel thus the tunnel will need a "hammer" adjustment. Alternatively just file out the holes in the support. File 2 holees enough, all 4 holes equally, or adjust the tunnel, is up for debate.

All a-body transmissions have the trans mount in the same place so there is no modification necessary, IF you plan on putting the drivetrain in the stock location.

No issues or mods required for me. In fact, it was probably easiest part of the whole swap - the old S6 trans crossmember fell into place and bolted right up.
