Tunnel Ram Power Band?

Tunnel rams are awesome on the street!
My build is different than yours but any of them can be tuned to run well on the street.
I've got a 470 low deck, 10.5 to 1 compression, stealth heads, 2" pro parts headers and a Comp XE282S solid cam. It makes around 550 horsepower.
It idles at 800 rpm in drive and 900 in neutral, I can drive it all day long without any problem and it pulls like crazy when I hammer on it.
I say go for it! :burnout:

Hell yeah you got the best one too. That's that Offenhauser Turbo Thrust. Sounds like a porno move. But them things run like hell.

See yall.....if you're lookin for a tunnel ram for the STREET look at the one above. See how LONG them runners are in the bottom half? That's what yer lookin fer. Short runners there are better for high RPM like the drag strip. The long runners though will do both.

If the carburetors are sized properly, a tunnel ram should make more power throughout the power band for three reasons. The first is increased vaporization because of the increased distance the fuel mixture travels before it hits the port. The second is the ram effect at higher RPM. Tunnel rams cram the mixture in the port and allow even iron head engines to go over 100% volumetric efficiency. The third is tuning. Intake runner lengths need to be tuned just like exhaust primary tube lengths to optimize pressure wave reflections.
