Well here goes.. The factory switch is bad and I have a welded on steering wheel disconnect. So I was thinking if this was possible. Can I hook a toggle switch up for each side? How would this need to be wired up? Will I need 2 flashers? This is for my street car.

The problem you run into is when you have both turn signals and brake lights on. The factory switch cancels out one brake light when it's turn signal is on. An add-on turn signal switch that clamps onto the column used to be available.....not sure if they still are or not. They look kind of funky, but, they do work.

It can be done with switches, that "old school" switch is large and clumsy.

As far as I know you need to use a relay with a switch for each direction (or a return to center momentary) trigger the relay to dump the brake signal, and feed the flasher through on the other side of the switch. In other words, a DPDT center off momentary plus 2 relays

With all the home built hotrods (roadsters, etc) there is very likely a cool "turn key" product, but I don't know "whut"

Did you weld on the quick disconnect? And why?
