Would anyone be willing to share images of '70-'71 Black Dodge Dart Swingers.
The time has come to make a decision on color.
My car is an original TX9 car but I don't know if I want to go back black...
So. Images of nice black paint jobs on Darts might keep my mind set.
Any help would be appreciated.

If you're not going to drive it everyday to where you have to worry about washing it every week, I would definitley go with black. I think Demonseeds Demon is one of the baddest looking cars on the site-especially with the flat black stripe. Just my opinion, but nothing shows off a muscle car better than Black!

I would do a black bumble-bee stripe.
One thing I wanted to do is the performance hood treatment...
That is why I am considering high impact colors.

I see. I would love to do a black car with the matte tail stripe and hood. That way people have to get closer to it to see the subtle differences in the paint. I've just never been a big fan of high impact colors on a bodies- Many will call me crazy!

This is the first non high impact mopar I have owned.
If I do go black with it I hope the paint comes out fine...
I have seen some ugly black paint jobs!

If I were wealthy, I would build another handful of these Darts in all the Impact colors. That would make for a cool stable of cars.

As for black, if you have a straight body, do it--especially with the flat accents. That will trump most. Nothin' like one that is so deep in black that it appears white. Good Luck. Keep us posted.

More IMPACT!!!

Boy, are most all of the earlier replies right on the money! You've got to have an exceptionally straight body to pull off black paint. You also need to constantly be dusting because it's clean for about 5 minutes and then the dust starts to show.
I had a '70 triple black Charger and it was a beautiful car. Took awhile after I sold it before I went back to another black-painted car.
There was a feature in one of the major Mopar magazines awhile back on a '69 Dart with a matt-black tail stripe. Agreed, it looked great. But my '69 is going to be 'Charger' Red with a white tail stripe when done - just like my original '69 340 Swinger was before I got stupid and sold it years ago.

I know of a 1970 Dart GT in Nevada: TX9 with a White Vinyl top, White interior, and White Tailstripe as ordered by the original/current owner! It is one of the most striking GT's we have in the registry. I will post a pic when I find it.

My dad had a black 83 Supra. It was just like his dark burgandy 72 Mercedes.........
You wash it, wax it, polish it, detail it, breath on it and it's dirty already.
My Honda Blackbird is the same way. I just wipe it down with a synthetic chamois.
