How good are the US CAR TOOL contoured frame connectors?

I am debating on build my own or buying those ones, they just look like they fit really good and the looks is just perfect, but i am wondering how good they really are,
Shime in guys, anybody had experiences with them good or bad!

katelynn daddys girl!

They look factory on their website photos. I'll be watching this post. I'm glad you brought it up. Mike

dont have any experience with those but if you have the skills the better option would be to build your own. Then you you can make them fit perfect, beef them up and it will still be cheaper than buying them.

I have them for my 71 Duster project. I haven't welded them in yet but they seem to be a quality piece and when they're installed they look like factory frame rails. They will require some minor grinding in places to adjust the fit to the floor pan but other than that they fit great. Make sure you remove the carpet before welding. Good luck.

I really got the skills but i am getting old and also like to support the market hahahaha in other words i am just a lazy *** P-rican hahahaha!
No but for real i like the way they are layout and the factory looks i can box em inside with a strip of 1/8 welded longwise to give more rigidity and it should be just perfect IMO looks and works just great, i think i'll give em a try!

I have a set. Have not put them on yet but I can say that they are built well and are realy strong. You will not need to box them in as once you weld them in the floor will do that just like the rest of the frame but out of thicker metal. If it was a race car I would weld in some 2X3 tube through the floor but for a street car the UScartools are the trick set up. IMO

I'd have to say the uscartools are probably the strongest as well, after they are welded in. This is what the factory chose for the subframes...

OHHHHHH come on guys HAHAHAHAHAHAHA now i relly will going to buy'em and compare em with what i can fabricate and then deside!

thanks for all the imput guys! i'll let you guys know how it works, by the way i will open a thread about my car build up as sonn as i start it, thanks again!

You could do it this way. Cut the floor to fit a u channel through, weld it in and then trim off the excess. Then weld the floor sections back in.

That way it will be the same as do just the US CAR TOOL setup but with more work, i'll buy the US CAR TOOL ones and figure something out and keep you guys posted!

I have a set that I have installed on my 71 Dart. Now that they are in and welded they look sweet, just like factory frame rails. It took me quiet some doing to get a fit that I could live with. Lots of grinding and even had to add in some metal in places where the gap between floor board was much to open to make a nice weld. Need to be careful when welding because it is very easy to burn through the floor boards. If you have the skills to install them the end result is well worth the labour, like I said they look factory not like you just fabbed up some box tubing and welded them in.

I made my own...cost was 50 bucks in material...I don't have pics of all the welds being done, so I know they look unfinished...
