I truly didn't realize i was among and afilliated with sooooo many HEROS.. Awesome and thanks a ton and if it makes ya feel any better, Small Block has your back on this board. Salute. I remember when i visited the traveling wall. I couldn't see it for the tears. Sacrifices were made and are still being made.

U.S. Army Active Duty 2004-Present 63B Wheeled vehicle Mechanic until June 2006 now I am a 89D Explosive Ordnance Disposal (Army Bomb Squad)
1 of the lucky few I have never been overseas.

TX terry, A Skyraider??? I haven't seen one for a long time! 25 Inf , !966-67 CuChi South Vietnam. I was 125th sig, worked with the 1/27 Wolfhounds. Just digging up tunnels.

1970-1976 US Army National Guard, 40th Armored Brigrade, Co. C (Bell, CA) and Co. A (Compton, CA). Both basic training and AIT at Ft. Polk, LA, in early '71. Served all of my summer annual trainings at the garden spot of the Mojave desert, beautiful Ft. Irwin, CA (the only 'green' seen there were the uniforms).
My Compton time in those years should have qualified me for combat pay.

Served in Desert Storm in 90 and 91 as a civilian with GTE Government Systems maintaining communications equipment.

I was never in the service, but i worked on the NMCI project in 2003, imaging 50,000 computers and setting up printers for Everett, Bangor, Whideby Island and Bremerton, at NAS Whidbey.

Worked with guy that were in, Vietnam vets, and Desert Storm vets, and some guys that just got back from Iraq in 2003.

GOD, the stories i heard from the guys just back from Iraq were increadible. I SALUTE YOU GUYS
 
I was in the Marine Corps from 1986-1994.
2 Tours in Okinawa
3 Team Spirits and 2 Bear Hunts
Shellback and Bluenose
Several 6 month deployments
Have spent time on the:
USS Nassau
USS Tarawa
USS Tripoli
USS Blue Ridge
USS Wasp
Operation Desert Shield/Desert storm.
Received my combat action during the year I was in Somalia.
I have been to JEST in the PI (Jungle Environmental Survival Training)
Mountain Warfare School in Korea (Huge slide for life!!)
SERE School (Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape)
Cold weather training in Wisconson before we went to live in tents in Norway for a month..

If I have a sturdy knife and some wire, I'm good to go.:thumbup:

We were on the Tripoli when it hit a mine and our unit got a Presidential Unit Citation for crossdecking to the Tarawa in record time.
