VF Valiant coupe resto in Aus

ozmoparjoe, What are the 2 rectangular holes in the fenders, just above the headlight, used or intended for? Great build by the way!

painted under the bonnet (hood) today, then managed to get the gaps on the left door and guard (fender) to a reasonable look. tomorrow I hope to hi fill the outside of the bonnet and fit it to the car so I can line up the front guards to it

Look at this, all the Aussies at the top of the page!! that yellow pops, looks good.....temp is my enemy here in Canberra too, not much will get done for a couple of months!!

took the outer side of the trunk lid to metal today and gave it a coat of epoxy, will have to finish off the filler work tomorrow (if not too cold), as I ran out of time today.

bit more progress on the coupe today, trunk lid is back on permanently (i hope), and repaired and epoxied the stone tray that was pretty rough

hey Deecee, no we don't really get snow in Melbourne, though its been bloody cold! Today was such a crappy day, cold, wind, just awful, but I still managed to get the right side quarter in epoxy, was dreading doing this, so im glad its done!

stripped the paint off the left quarter today and was happy to see that there was no rust at all! No old filler either, and apart from a few minor dents, this was a lot easier and less time consuming than the right side. Next is the sills, roof, and cowling and ill be ready to hit it with high fill...woohoo!

More good work mate, at least that one was easier to work with, you need a lucky break every now and then. I am saving up to respray my sedan next, now that the ute is finished.
We just can't help ourselves sometimes.....

thankyou very much, the yellow is actually an Aussie GM colour called blaze yallow MK 2, but its very close to the Plymouth / Dodge yellow of the era.

yay got the right side in primer today, not exactly show quality but it will do, hoping to have the left side done tomorrow and with a bit of luck ill do the trunk lid and front valance and that's it!
