VF Valiant coupe resto in Aus

-
Thanks guys, I have spent this weekend wet sanding, nearly finished, just need to do a repair I missed on the right quarter, then apply a bit more primer where I rubbed back too far, then sand that and the rocker, and will be ready for paint!
Tried my best to get the lines straight, but me being a novice, I found this very difficult, so it will have to do for now............

We are always our own worst critic mate, it looks good from here. If i had my way, i would respray the entire ute again, because only I know what is not perfect. Keep at it mate, you will be stoked when you get the final paint on it. I know i was. :)

Sign of a true perfectionist. Your car looks fantastic!

thanks for the comments everyone, well its finally happened, its painted!
As I said before, I am not too happy with the right quarter, but I think it will be ok for a while, realistically, that quarter needs to be replaced.......

Absolutely Beautiful Joe! I love seeing all your hard work come together. The grille really sets off that paint color.

Now your into the fun part, making it look like a car again. That color really pops out in the sun too mate, great choice.

thanks guys, appreciate the comments, got a start on putting the stripes on...........

Thanks fellas, haven't posted for a while, just been doing small fiddly things, had the hood lining installed, tried to get the windshields installed but the guy broke the front one so he will be back during the week to try again, got the back on in ok though. Bought some mold clips and cut them to size and fitted the hood trim and the rear deck lid trims.
Next week ill order the tail and indicator lenses, and might also buy some carpet and get that happening too.
Take care y'all.

In Aus, the Dodge Dart was sold under the Valiant name, I remember seeing a sticker like this on an old Valiant I brought many years ago and thought it was great! I believe I saw an advert for a 58 Plymouth with something similar, must have been a Chrysler thing, anyway when I saw a sticker come up for sale on ebay, I couldn't resist lol.

That's looking pretty special mate, that color really pops with the black too. Love that sticker too.... :)
Thanks Deecee.
Well after being screwed around badly by one diff shop, I was finally put on to a guy that was able to make me up a diff the way I wanted for a pretty good price, so it started life under an Aussie 1993 Ford Falcon, it has discs as you can see, its 3.45.1, 28 spline, LSD, shortened to suit, all up $1,650.
I just have to get the handbrake cables which Pentastar Parts & restorations in Sydney have to suit, and do the brake lines.
Just glad its finally done!
