I need a stock 4barrel intake for a 318.Possible a carburetor to.I don,t want a 340 or a 360 manifold but a stock 318.I,ve seen them in a junkyard on trucks and when I decided what I was going to do I went back to get one and they were gone. Mark

Mark, 318's used the stock cast iron 340/360 4bbl. intake manifold. They never had a deadacded (SP!) 4bbl. for a 318. Next iron 4bbl. intake you see, grab it.

If you want a 318 port size 4bbl. intake, look for a LD4B or Performer from Edelbrock or a Action plus from Weiand.

Like rumblefish said, I am not aware of an LA318 ever coming with a 4 barrel, but could be wrong.
I have this nice 70 340 intake all cleaned up, $85 plus shipping from 60139

They did come stock with the 360 intake and used a T-Q carb.

This is what I need. As you said the samll port size manifold. The ones in the junkjard one had the small ports and one had the large port and they both were cast iron.I should have grab both of them.I have a little motorhome that I want to put a 4bbl headers and cam in.Can anybody do a search on this number 2846346 it is a factory318 4bbl number I think. Mark

Even if it is a bigger port iron unit, there castings were never a solid casting year after year in keeping the same size port.

Worst case, port the 318 head to match the intake. The mismatch is not a big deal, but helpful when it is taken away. Do not worry yourself on this issue.

......I've put many 340-360 intakes on 318s......in fact 4x4 trucks and ramchargers 4x4s used the 360 intake and 2bbl carbs 1981 up............kim........

That is a 273 marine intake manifold. And yes, it has 318 ports as any unmodified 273 does. You can look for any 1966 or 1967 273 4 barrel manifold to fit also.

I know that in 78 and newer, 318s with the dreaded Lean Burn came with 4bbls.

Why put on a old heavy cast iron intake ?

Why not go with a modern,lightweight,alum 4 bbl intake,like a Edel Performer ?
There cheap and plentiful.

Be carefull on motorhome intake swaps. If it's a '72 and older class A with a 318-3 engine, they use a water crossover under the carb.....not exhaust. They don't interchange. If it's a 318-1 (like cars and pickups) you can bolt on a '66-7 273 intake if you're going to use a square bore carb, or, a '78-up 318 intake if you're using a spreadbore. I know, you can use an adaptor, but, that always seemed Mickey Mouse to me. Keep in mind, that the later intake has EGR and other smog features that you may want to sterilize. If it was me....I'd put on an aftermarket intake that's matched to the internal engine specs and carb I'm going to use. If you have the 318-3...you're screwed.

I know what your talking about. It is not a 318-3.Thanks for putting that info out there. Mark

I have one I'd sell. I picked up a roller-cam equipped 318 as it had been rebuilt and had very low mileage on it. I know the intake that's on it is a cast iron 4BBL intake and the heads are the 302 castings which I believe are 318-only units. I can check out the intake port size and get a pic or two of it if you want. I'd definitely be interested in selling it if you're still looking for one.

I don't have my book in the house to convert this # (too much snow to the garage) but $85 +frt.

Those also came with 360 heads..........and the intakes were also from 360s.

True. And they put a ton of them in cop cars (M body). About 85 or so the 318 got 302 casting heads with small ports, but I dont know what intake chry put on those years.

It looks like maybe its base is slightly wedge shaped to level a carb that sits on an engine that's tilted back.

Nothing compared to 2846348.
