I was always under impression that if wood was treated, it was best to leave it bare at least for a while. Some guys around here say not to paint treated wood at all...but I know zero about it.

When we had the deck put up, I was told not to treat it for at least 6 months. After that I stained it every couple of years on the top and bottom and it lasted for 15 years and then only a few of the outer boards for the floor were bad when I had it replaced. If you use paint or stain the key is to use a quality product.

Awesome. I think that they are great to have. Looks like it's going to be a nice place when your done. I had heartland siding put on our house when we had it built, it holds up well.

I remember running around the foundation of the house I live in now,back when my parents built it in 1969 when I was 5 years old!
The end of the day. They didn’t quite get everything finished as they’d hoped. Rain all day tomorrow may delay things to Friday or Monday or both
This isn’t good… we waited 8 weeks for these doors and windows to come in and and one of the doors came in busted
Be sure your subfloor is screwed down!!!! If not, I would go back and add screws.

You can twist perceptions, reality won't budge
Whenever I paint or stain any board (after letting treated stuff dried out for at least several months), I always thin out the first coat a lot so that it soaks into the wood really well like a primer/bonding coat. It has worked really well for me over the years. I use the same method when I paint any kind of concrete with results as well. Have had great luck on both water based latex as well as oil based stuff. Just use the appropriate thinning agent. I use distilled water for thinning latex paints.

Wow! Seems rather odd, but I guess "stuff" happens.
Hopefully they'll expedite the replacement for you.

Not yet. We’re still under budget. Haven’t fully hit my contingency plans yet.
Amish crew came in about 25 percent under budget too. So that really helps.
Happy wife, happy life. Ought to be a good credit toward a big detached shop for you!!
