Today our great friend and amazing pet, Hermione passed away. She was 15 years old, which is pretty old for a miniature dachshund. She was one of the best dogs in history. Always happy, tail always wagging, and always happy to be with us. We will really miss her. This picture is about 10 years old, but this is how I want to remember her.

Well, that picture made me laugh. What a cutie!

Our little mutt, who may be part Dachsund, is also fifteen years old. So far he's doing well, but I know the day will come and I dread it.

This picture is also maybe ten years old. He's all gray now.

Thank-you for giving Hermione a loving home all these years. She will be with you in your heart and at times it seems/sounds like they are still around us.

I am very sorry for your loss. It is extremely hard losing a little furry family member, especially one who has shared life with you for so long. I honestly think dogs so willingly show their love to their people because they somehow know that they only have a short time to do it. What a great pic of Miss Hermione! Our little Shi Tzu Bella has her tongue stuck out like that a lot of times. R.I.P. Hermione. I know some good puppies who will keep you company at The Rainbow Bridge while you wait for your family.

Prayers for comfort and peace as you head down the path without her by your side. Just know that she face you everything she had, and I’m sure you gave her the best life a pup could have as well. She looks like a great dog! I’m sure our beloved dog Bella will be waiting for her, to show her the ropes and find her new favorite spot to watch for you when you see her again.

So sorry. There's no more friend and loyal companion than a pup. You were lucky to have her. Dave

What a sweet photo, and a perfect way to remember Hermione.

I am truly sorry for the loss of your wonderful girl, you gave her a loving and happy home and in return she gave a lifetime of unconditional love. She will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and shared in the joy that she brought you.

My Husky/shepherd buddy Charlie, my avatar picture, is now 12 years old, and was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer. He still seems to be happy and the vet says he is not in any pain from it, but I can see that he is not going to be with me much longer.
Sorry, I don't wish to derail this thread.

Aw, man.

Never easy.

We got a 14 year old cat diagnosed with lymphoma 5 1/2 months ago.

Prognosis was 6 weeks to 6 months.

He's actually acting better than he was 5 1/2 months ago.

Deepest sympathy to your family, from ours. We always hate to lose one of our fuzzy-kids. Great picture of her.
