I have a 1974 Dart 4 door sedan.

The rubber material (U-shaped) that seals the front, rear and top edge of the front door glass has gotten hard and I'm getting a lot of wind leakage in several places.

Not sure if replacement material is available, or even how mine is attached. It looks like there is one piece in the divider between main window and the vent window, a second piece that goes along the top and rear of the window openning, and a third piece that goes in the rear channel inside the door. Parts 2 & 3 may simply be 1 long piece that is broken on mine?

The 3rd piece simply pulls out of the metal channel but the other two seem to be very firmly in place. Are these supposed to come out, and mine are just too brittle to remove without breaking, or are they cemented in, or an integral part of the metal channel.

Any sources for replacements?

Thanks,
Dan

Steele rubber products.

Layson's.

Year-None, meaning never in stock.

Looks like you need the roof rail channel seal and the quarter glass end seal.

Both are replaceable.

Steele has the roof channel pair for $107.00 pair

And the quarter glass leading edge seal for $21.40 pair.

I would list the other vendor's prices but year-none probably does not have them in stock, and Laysons has a website catalog.

you say 4 door? if you find them i need the track seals for my 2 door post. mine slide in to the track from the bottom on the wing side and pop in on the top and the back. keep us posted dude, i need em too.

The part I see at Layson's is rubber door channel AS990029 and shown as 27/64" wide. Is this for the divider between the vent window and the roll up window? It' much too narrow for the top and rear pieces.

Restoration Specialties shows the same one as well as a glass run channel kit 6772SED4 that says it's for 67-72 A body 4 doors. Is there a difference between these and the 73 up doors?

Maybe I'm missing it, but didn't see anything at Steele for 4 door A body.

The best way to match what you have on your car is to remove the rubber channel pieces and match/measure the profile of your originals to the profiles shown in our online catalog. There are about a dozen different profiles to choose from. I have learned that what works for one customer's car may or may not work on another's car.

I believe this has more to do with where the car was built and the availability of stock on hand when the car came down the assembly line.

The correct glass channel for the front edge of the side glass(driver and passenger) next to the vent wing(the verticle part at the rear of the wing shown in the first pic in the post above) would be TM-32230.

I do believe that GZ-AS990029 would be correct for the rest of the glass channel that you're looking for.

I have a seal that works, I put it in the tracks of my 4 door Valiant. It snaps right in place without any adhesive. Works nice too. I got 106' left over and I'm willing to sell it for $2.60 a foot.

Let me see if I can find a picture....
