It’s not rocket science that’s for sure. Everything in moderation and exercise is a real plus. There are tons of Different ways of doing it and getting the results. they can and do differ for everyone. In the end it’s all will power and how much ya want it. Before you can do it you need to hit that place that wakes you up to it. gor me , I was pushing my lil girl in her stroller through philly and saw myself in a reflection and was disgusted at what I saw. I also wanted it be able to keep up with her as she grew up. She is 9 now and I’m 48 and I do good in keeping up for her. Soon enough she will be leaving me in her dust but we will still have fun together. ;)

Less stress, Less food (especially junk), more exercise... Was up to 260 about 10 years ago. Reallized that was gonna kill me if I continued. Made some big diet changes and a lot more exercise. Had it down to 195 till job stress got me out of whack. Back up to 240.. After 'losing' that job was back down to 220 . Slight yo-yo for a while.
Beginning of this year was back up to 235.
Now in a much better job situation and very little stress I am focusing on my health more. Now I am on track with lots of salads, reasonable portions of meats, little bread, no beer during the week.... More exercise. Just keep adding changes for the better...Lost 10lb since Feb.
STRESS KILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But sometimes it's hard to avoid:BangHead:

Like many others have said, burn more calories than you eat. Sugar, especially the refined in sodas. Fruit, is ok from what I have read. It is the ok kind, from what I have read, and the fiber is good for you to be regular. Portion size, big thing! 4 oz or about playing card size portion. Since I started this job, I have lost about 25 pounds. No soda, no alcohol, my xercise is chasing/tending to a machine for 12 hours. Tough at first at 59, and now 60. Whew, looking at retirement. I never cut out anything other than refined sugars. Just watch portion sizes. Started taking calcium citrate with vitamin D3. Vitamin D is important, and the main St to get it is being out in the sun. But treblig, abodyjoe and others like that have it figured out.

What worked for me, was keeping calories out of my beverages...water with a splash of lemonade, black coffee, and no-sugar almond milk. I heard you should always be digesting something at all times, so a modest breakfast and many small snacks like a piece of cheese, or boiled egg, or celery or other vegetables with a dip made of greek yogurt and ranch seasoning, or some grapes or strawberries or apple slices, or cold chicken breast with some spices on it. I park my car far away and walk, or even run sometimes. A big thing the helped my success is every Sunday I get to eat anything I want. I weighed myself every Saturday morning and wrote it down and made a graph on an index card with my goal weight plotted out. I am sure you can do it, Robert.

I use the God diet and portion control. If God made it it is good to eat. If it is a man made substitute or worse, modified, I don’t want any part of it. Fresh fruit, pecans and peanuts, and vegetables. Salads don’t agree with me. Fresh grass fed beef, chicken, fish, wild game for meats. Deserts are good but, in small potions. Your body will let you know if something bothers it or does not satisfy you. I rarely eat bread, fried foods, fast food, or processed food anymore. I drink water, homemade sweet tea, milk everyday, wine occasionally. No meds or supplements, I’m 63 now and am up to 185. I do work from 7:00 am to about 9:00 pm, but no gym. I still ride my 1985 Schwinn Peloton to work a couple days a week if the weather is nice. Books: Eat right for your type; and the Omnivores Dilemma. We are all different, and you need to figure out what works for you...
