what might a 383 weigh with aluminum heads, intake and water pump?
like the idea of a big block in an A body but don't want the weight.
..a stroked 383 may be the answer?

If do the whole 383 in as much aluminum as you can save the block, it'll weigh right very very close to a small block.

Weigh them iron parts vs. the aluminum ones and do the math. ;)

Stroke mis allways good. If it is your wallet of course.

Mind you its a 440. Aluminum heads, intake, water pump housing, forged crank, no flex plate ,exhaust headers, pulleys or alternator installed but still has dolly attached. I'm sure scale is not 100% accurate came off eBay. 532 lbs.

now i'm wondering how much more the RB would weigh over the 383?

depending on several factors..maybe 35 to 75 lbs. maybe more if you're talking factory iron parts
