Oh, I was going to offer to help you find an NOS one, since I'm online many hours a day and have no life, but since I'm stupid for having an opinion, you can do without my help. I'm extraordinarily good at finding things, too. I'm also good at not helping those who insult me.

How is speaking the truth an insult?.......are they not a socialist country? Since their emperor has had them on lockdown for the last year plus the people that I know that live in Canada all tell me that they basically live out of their basement......

I have no doubt everyone in Canada is not a "basement dweller" or "socialist". You seem to be ready to fling insults at anyone not ready to agree with you. I'm not back reading, but I don't think I've seen anyone insult you yet, only give a different opinion or two. As I said before, if you weren't ready for some to disagree with you, you shouldn't have posted this. You paid for a 300 dollar grille. You got one. It likely is "restored" compared to "how it was before". Have you seen before pictures? It doesn't look bad to me for 300 dollars. You've said more than once your car is "perfect". Your words, not mine. As such, you should have looked for an NOS grille.

Perfect cars get restored parts put on them all day long because for one in a lot of cases a modern day professional restoration part will look better than NOS and secondly there aren't NOS parts out there anymore for everybody's needs as to why you have specialty restoration vendors. I would be perfectly happy with a professionally restored one and maybe I should have asked more questions but like I already stated he bought this parts lot so he would not have that answer for me........we just obviously view a restored part differently and that's fine......I will just probably deal with the professionals moving forward.

I think that's what you should have done. It sounds like your car is on par with those type parts.
 
You should be able to resell it. There was someone else that wanted it too. Maybe they don't need the same quality of restoration that you do. :popcorn:
 
King Of Trim Home – King of Trim can restore these grilles (also trunk panels). They do a 95% perfect job. I say 95% because in spots you can see how they masked off the black. Nobody can paint them the way the factory did, with stencils. You'll note on a factory painted grill some slight fogging, or overspray, where the black spray paint leaked under the stencil onto the aluminum. These were not tape stencils, they were metal or plastic and just sat on the grille. So in most areas there are no "hard" edges between the colors like you get with tape. And every restorer uses tape. So only 95% correct/perfect.

No, you called me out so I am just returning the favor. It goes both ways, if you don't want feedback don't post just that simple. I have been a national show judge for A-Body's for 30 years, and I do have an NOS grille but for sure you will never get it from me now. BTW, I would have payed more for the one you have if you weren't such an asshole... One more thing, there is NO SUCH THING as a perfect restoration on a Dart, if it was perfect it would look like **** just as the factory made them. In case you would like to know I was the consultant and had my hands on THE best 68 Dart restoration of all time...

I was told at an early age that if you want something done right then do it your self. Maybe thats what you should have done because apparently no one has the skill set that you have

Dude, You need to relax. I agree with you that some people's idea of "Restored" is a few coats of Krylon paint. However, the pictures you posted did not really show the detail of the problems as well as you are seeing them. My first thought when I looked at the pictures was that it looked OK, and there is NOTHING wrong with my vision. Sometimes Cell phone pictures downloaded to a forum like this do not do the item(s) justice. That being said, once again a member posts something and when he does not get the comments he wants, he gets rude and snarky. In my opinion there is no place for that on this forum. Treat others as you would be treated.

And if you did find a pair of "restored" 69 Barracuda grills for $300, bought them, and when you got them they looked like the grills in the pictures, wouldn't you have been thrilled. I would have been. Even a mediocre pair of 69 Barracuda grills would probably cost more than $300.

So IF the 'damage' occurred during shipping, he has every right to suggest that you contact the shipper for satisfaction. As for the misunderstanding between the two of you over the definition of 'restored', I would say that you share equally with the result of the transaction. It doesn't sound to me like he deserves to be called stupid.
