What’s the attraction?

-
As a kid i was fascinated by the big back window. They were the most expensive windows made in those years. And tough. A guy gave one to his kids, they towed each other around behind a snowmobile.even down the gravel road. Its all scraped up.

i found a 65 a few years ago, still a work in progress.

This is like telling a guy his wife is ugly. opinions vary.

I always wanted a 68 Fastback super stocker clone ..so finally one day I get a 1968 Fastback 340 car....I started plans to mini tub and 4 link...then a fellow friend really heavy into the scene said why did you get that style barracuda...I said what you mean..he said that's a woman's car back in the day....hmmmmm...didn't really bother me but I never could forget the comment...maybe he was just ignorant, maybe jealous...but he had many cars....I sold it and bought a few more Demons and Dusters and Darts oh my...

‘68 Fastback a woman’s car??? I don’t f’ing think so…

Does this look anything like a woman’s car?

Sorry, but your friend is a moron and has no idea what he’s talking about.

He probably drove a “Pro street” Chevbox Citation…

A womans car.... Guy has no clue... I knew of quite a few seriously Bad *** 67-69 FB Barracudas back in the 70's & 80's... By the 90's they were harder to find & most didn't come out to play anymore...

I have had 1 person tell me he didn't like my '65...ONE. And he turned out to be my friends Dad who came down from Minot ND to Pomona where I was in the car corral, JUST TO PISS ME OFF. I told him if he didn't like it, move on.. there are more ugly cars down there. Then I realized who he was and we all had a good laugh. So that makes NO ONE. Let's post up some wife pictures and all have a good time....

For all yall that don't like the early A cars, just send them to me.

A couple early A Barracuda's and a slick Valiant.

This one actually looks pretty good... Course that low shot is one part of it, The wheels & tires, stance & black paint don't hurt either...

Had a neighbor back in the 70's that had a 65 Formula S Silver with a black stripe... It wasn't a bad looking car... Most of them don't do a thing for me..

Edsels, 1961 Desoto, Studebakers, but not Avanti's, Citroen's. Just to name a few more.

The sad and pathetic thing is......
I want one of each of those!
Missed a deal on an awesomely done one-of-none Edsel sedan delivery.
I want a mopar fin car, 61 DeSoto would be perfect.
Would you throw a supercharged Golden Hawk off your driveway?
I'm so sick, I actually would like to have a 2CV.
(I actually have a 61 De Soto, but it doesn't count.....)

Don't the 2CVs get like 70 or more mpg?

The original 2CV got 9hp from 375cc, and 80 mpg. Top speed? Not much.
Yeah but talk about GREAT city transportation. The theory and design was sound. That's all people really "need" in big metropolitan areas. Kinda like a Model T car or truck.

I used to be in the early A haters club because I always had 67 to 72 A bodies, then one day I acquired an early A and fell in love.

It's my one and only early so I cherish it but a lot of people have told me how ugly they think it is. Some have even come to my shop to tell me my car is ugly. LOL
How's a 63 valiant wagon??

Of all our A-Bodies the 65 Barracuda is always the most admired by passers-by.

And of people, who know all our cars (66 Valiant, 69 Dart, 70 Dart, 71 Duster, 72 Demon) women in particular find the Barracuda the most beautiful.

Dude. Put some blackout behind that grille and warn us next time. I was eating.

I've never really been a big fan of the early Barracudas, but even the odd side view can look great if there is a bit of rake. They also have a nice interior and dash.

The '69 fastback is still my favorite, something like the below, B5 blue like my first mopar. A 340, 4 spd would be dream, but my 318 auto was still something special to me.

But then again the '70 models weren't bad either...
