What did I do wrong???

Ok so I've been collecting 8 3/4 parts. So thinking I have everything I started to assemble the rear. I have a 489 case with a clutch type sure grip. When I put in the drivers side axle, I ended up with a bit of drag on the axle. The passenger axle when installed doesn't seem to want to go all the way in and if I snug the nuts to the flange it all locks up. I've run the adjuster in and out, with no change. So what did I do wrong ?

What thrust block do you have?
square?
round?
block/buttons?

Your talking about the button between the axles? It looked round to me.

ok I read the thread but I'm running all stock parts and the thread is talking about using green bearing and cutting axels. so why is the stock stuff not working?

A body or B body?
are both buttons on the block that holds the spider gears?

A body and it looks like both are there
