I found these parts in my stash with the 4 speed tranny. I have the bell housing bracket, stud bracket for the z bar. I have the z bar. bushings linkage rods and a clip. can you see anything else I need here to put this puppy together. more clips maybe. I also have the boot that goes in the side of the bellhousing, not pictured and the tranny of course. Bill

Do you have the reinforcement plate for the inner fender where the Z bar ball stud mounts? it needs to be welded to the inner fender/frame rail or the stud will just rip out of the inner fender within a few pushes of the clutch pedal. Also one of the arms on your Z bar looks bent.

Make sure the bolt on bracket in the bell housing that the clutch fork slips into is a "A" body not a "B or E" body.
Also use the 12" clutch fork not the 10.5" in a later model "A" body.

I am going to buy the reinforcement brace from Brewers. I see that arm looks bent on the z bar. how do I tell if that bracket in the bell housing is an a body.

Go to Brewers web site, they have clear photos of the differences in the brackets.
Also they have a history of 833 4-speeds which will answer most of your questions.

Call Wayne on Monday with any questions his web site does not answer, he is a stand up guy, not many companys now a day you can call and talk to the owner.

Daliant, you think it would be ok to heat and bend the bar up straight and it would be ok.

Yes you can heat it, most likely bent by using a heavy after market clutch.

Also if you are changing over from a 904 you will need a different yoke for the output on the trans (same as a 727), and driveshaft.
