Picked this up at a thrift store. No idea what it is.
it's about 16 inches long. The only writing on it is: Craftsman, made in usa bb

It's a wood bit extension. The threaded end (chuck) tightens up on the square shank on the bit. Handy for drilling holes for electrical runs through wood framing etc.

Ahhh. I get it now. some wood auger bits have a square end on them. Never knew why.
