I'm swapping to 4 speed & was wondering what a fresh rebuilt 727 with Turbo Action 3000 stall worth. Also have stainless steel trans line & B&M Mega Shifter.

open market, about tree-fiddy.

all kidding aside, probably around 1K maybe 1500 with the shifter and lines. if you have receipts to back it up, the closer you'll get to that number.

*cue all the gray beards talking about how the bought 727's back in the day for $20 and a 12-pack and then R&R'd them in the driveway in 45min to go cruise the DQ*

That happened many a time in the old days. That was when ambition was running rampant. Now not so much. Kim

Loafing ain't getting me any pricing on my transmission ! LoL!
have you checked any comps locally? like FBM/CL/OU penny saver, bulletin board down at the piggly wiggly?

that should give you a fairly good idea of what the market is looking like.

on the flip side of that, i can have a trans built for 3K so from my perspective i'm not paying more than 1500 for something used unless it's really special-- ie provenance, i know the seller, paperwork out the ying/yang, chromed and engraved, blessed by king richard hisself, etc.

I think a 727A core is increasingly difficult to find and when you do they want all the money. 2 grand for all of it would be a reasonable asking price. Whats a unit through Jegs or Summit? What's the level of build? RMVB ,billet drum, extra clutches and steels, 4 pinion planetary? It could be worth more.

Well, here's my take......and it probably won't be popular. A transmission out and on the floor is like an engine in the same scenario. Unless it's in something and running and driving, it's pretty much a core. The only exception in my mind would be if the seller was offering some sort of warranty and how long that warranty is good for. If say the warranty was something like one year and 12K miles for example, then that makes it worth more. Most reputable transmission shops will warranty even performance builds for that long. But if no warranty, then it's core price all day long.

A standard rebuilt 727 with a shift kit and im assuming a used converter now .
I’m sure it’s a good transmission,,,but I dont think it is at the high end of that price estimate .
What do you feel it’s worth ?

Is the case immaculate clean,,,or was it just degreaser cleaned ?
I’m assuming by Standard you mean a regular rebuild parts kit and clutches ?
Was it also new steels involved as well,,,,and new bushings throughout ?
Only you know what you have in it,,,,,it sounds fine to me,,,but not top end money .
I’m sure it will be a good unit for someone .

friend of mine just bought a lo miles 727, B&M shift kit, B&M converter (2800) deep pan for 825.

i thought that to be a fair price, so that's what the market is here in socal.
