What's an intake worth?

-
Do you think it is worth buying now so if I want to use it later it would be available or should I just worry about it when the time comes. I don't know how hard to find these are.

If you have the $50 to spare it's a good deal. If you don't use it later you can always get your $50 back.

Is it important that it's a '70 intake?

The intakes themselves aren't super hard to find, but if you've got one local, it's the right year, and it's only $50 I'd buy it now.

This one's $80

This one's $100

This one's $199 #-o

And of course all of them will cost $50 or more to ship so...

They are worth what someone will buy it for. I have a nice manifold from 340 I will sell if you need. 71 i believe.

...and to think that back then these intakes were considered "boat anchors" and we threw them away when we put on our nice shiny aluminum intakes!
I wish I had all the original parts back that I threw out in the trash back then...

No kiddin.
I once tossed a complete Ford flathead V8 that smoked but ran.

x2

I've got a couple 72-73 340 intakes I don't think I could give away!

I had a couple extras I put on eBay and was pleasantly surprised. Those are good enough that not many aftermarket manifolds will make more power.
