adapted to the old LA small block ? It is supposed to be able to handle loads of torque , any one looked into it ?

biggest question..can i bolt it up to my 340 in my duster...and without trans tunnel refab...or x member refab....

wishful thinking......

i thought i read somewhere that the hemi bellhousing pattern is the same as the LA engines.

and the 8 speed is suppose to be in the hellcat challenger? i think that answers all the question?

It's too simple. IIRC, the reason why the current 5-speed are too difficult to adapt is that they require certain sensors for them to function. Don't quote me on that.

Don't jump the gun Jerry. Sooner or later some company will crack the code and make a stand alone controller to control this tranny. By that time, they will be more plentiful and cheaper to buy. tmm

That is the question ! I can't find any dimensions of the beast , hence the question , thought someone hear might have seen one an thought the process through .
Would be amazing in one of you Dusters for sure .
Cross member refab I can live with , butcher the tunnel , not so much

No doubt , but I'm sure there are going to be people working it out , if they are able to fit the tunnel

I'm waiting , the only thing that would hold me back is having to butcher the trans tunnel . I'm just getting used to splitting the gears with my OD , 8 speeds would be that much better , could go with 4:56 in the rear and still have top end cruise ability for highway driving .
I'll keep dreaming

Just swap in a hellcat, 8 speed and all the computers and stuff!! :burnout:

Although I'm sure it's easier said than done!! Lol

I drove a 2013 hemi 6 speed, short wide bed. then a new 2014 hemi 8 speed short wide bed, the 8 speed had it all over the 6 speed. the new hemi wasn`t broken in, but it would smoke the 2013 that had 12000 on it I`m wanting one, but getting ready to retire, and don`t want the payments. keep telling my self that there`s nothing wrong w/ my 02 quadcab, just don`t have enough power for me!:banghead:

Wonder how long it takes they'll go (back) to a beefed-up, fully shiftless variable transmission like DAF-company used to make in the '60s.
Google; "daf variomatic transmission".

Most important are dimensions , will it fit the tunnel without cutting ? Sensors and programming will be figured out if there is a demand , and I'll be demanding big time if the 8 speed will fit without surgery . Though looking at the pictures of the trans it looks big and weighs in at 195 lbs , hmm an extra 60- 70 lbs over a 727 close to 100 over a 904 . Would the weight negate the gains at the track ?

Have had a 2010 Challenger with the 3.5 and 5 speed auto, now I have a 2014 300 with 3.6 and 8 speed. I can tell ya, and there's no doubt, the 8 speed is far better. 3.6 is also a better engine, but side by side, with the friend's 2013 Charger, the extra gears, in my 300, make a noticeable difference.
