I bought a set of 15X4 steelies from @RAT ROD AL last week. I'm not sure who made them or when, but I know they aren't common. I'll look them over closely when they arrive tomorrow. Maybe I can find a maker's mark somewhere.
I don’t really have any problem with the quality. I really just want rims of the same color and shape. I talked to them in the morning and sent them pictures. The car currently has 2 year old 215/60 BFG Radial T/As on original 14x5.5 Rallyes. 6” is the minimum recommended width for the 215/60s and 7” is even better. I noticed that 15x6 and 15x7 OE style SBP wheels are now available again. Much better availability in 15” tires than 14”, especially for autocross tires.

1. The wider the rim, the better the tire handles, within the recommended range. If you are in a stock type autocross or racing class that limits your wheel width, the wider tire sometimes works, but not always. The "1/2 inch too narrow" wouldn't bother me in the slightest. A recommendation is just that, a recommendation.
My bad. I should have been more clear. I was referring to 14" steelies. You see some 14x7 SBP in stock, let me know. LOLIve spoken with a few rim retailers about WV rims. Both said "never again".
Bullshit! I have since bought 15" sbp WV from either Jegs or Summit approx 8-10 months ago. Sold out quick, now avail again.
Just like fake news, dont believe anything you hear.

So not to highjack your thread, will 15x7 with 4.25 bs fit sbp upfront, and what size tire recommend. I'm have 14x5.5 with 205/70 on it now
The wheels arrived today and they are brand new. If they were made by someone other than Wheel Vintiques I would be surprised. The welds look they were done by machine. These are BBP if that matters to anyone. Those were custom made by somebody, I'm pretty sure.

It's plum hard to believe some get away with a 215 70 14 up front. I have 205 70 14s on the front of Vixen and the 215 would fit. ...but then, I believe the front wheel openings are a good bit different from 64 to yours, too.205/60/15 on sbp fronts. No idea on b/s, 99% sure they are 7". No way I would go bigger. Its tight on some turns.

I'm sure yall all remember when we started having supply chain issues way back when. Remember all the container ships that were lined up off the coast of kommiefornika? Me too. It's funny too, because that was about the time I called Wheel Vintiques directly. That's DIE-WRECK-LEE. I spoke with them regarding their 14" plain steel wheels in the small bolt pattern. Know what they said? That the LAST BATCH was on one of them container ships off the coast that came from...wait for it...CHINA. They also said when those were gone, that was it. There would be no more. So I got it from the horse's mouth they were made in China that far back. If they're "somehow" made in USA "all of a sudden" it's news to me and I bet it's news to them, too.
An old friend in Ks. used to custom make such. I don't think he does anymore. Welding the rallye centers in.Steve. I picked up this car that had 15 x 8 sb pattern on the rear. Never seen any before or since. . Sold them at Garlits last year. So someone somewhere made thrm.View attachment 1716519646View attachment 1716519647
I don't know. Good question.wonder if thats where the hoops or centers came from and then welded here?
