For the end of October, we're definitely living on borrowed sunshine. It's just a matter of time before the big white curtain arrives, but each day like this is a freebie and makes the winter at least one day shorter. Ribs look really tasty Mike. I finished mine off for supper last night - couldn't wait until lunch today. They sure were tasty!!

our power just came back on around noon today, its been off since 2pm tuesday. ended up with almost a foot of wet snow.
almost lost my boat, 2 trees fell down on both sides of it, only broke the grab handle on the back step, thank GOD that was it

10-4 brother. I have all the windows open and it is a beautiful night. For an original pagan night honoring the dead I have never felt so alive. Must be the 1/4 Irish (celt) in me, lol!

Me too!!! Was a perfect night raking the kids out trick-or-treating. And us fathers do our own trick-or-treating, kind of a tradition that all the neighbors that know us drop a beer in our bags :-D

Yup, warm and dry here, can't remember since we had rain, couple weeks I guess. There was snow in the mountains to the west of us last week but that's all gone. It's supposed to be Chinooking tomorrow, if it is I'll get a picture of the arch with the mountains below and post it here. Something to behold when those warm dry winds (60-80MPH) come blowing through and the humidity level drops to almost 0. People prone to migraines have a hell of a time in this country cuss the High pressure zone can be replaced with a low and back to a high in 24 hrs. or less. Also people with arthritis have a hell of time, like myself. I sometimes walk like a 75 year old ex driller with a real pissy attitude, reminds me of my father bless his heart.

I landed in Hawaii yesterday morning and my mom tells me the family is planning on cooking out at the beach. Well the sun comes up and the sky is black. It rains most of the day, but my sister says that they're still going. It never really clears up, but the rain slows to an intermittent drizzle. All turns out well and I see something I never really get to see in Vegas, a rainbow. I forgot how beautiful those things could be.

Now you've gone and made me sad Hawaiiduster. I was in Honolulu about 4 years ago on a job at that Tessoro refinery for a month and fell in love with the island and the people. God dam I loved that place especially the north shore. I almost didn't come back. Just the feeling of contentment was so overwhelming but then reality set in. I guy I worked with on occasion retired on the island last year and some day I'm going to show up and drink Lee's beer and sit on the beach.
