which paint and glue?

I'm sure my old tube of testor's glue and paints are pretty much dried up. the paints I could revitalize with thinner but not the glue. What are you guys using nowadays? a friend used Harbor Freight super glue and Rustoleum paint with built-in primer. any other favorites?

That's a good question. I haven't built models in years. But I've done some fairly recent model railroading. I use super glue on some things. But when you do, you need to paint over the glued joints with a liberal coat of paint. Moisture will make super glue release over time, so it needs to be sealed. I don't know of any specific plastic glue that's worth a snot anymore.

You might be surprised by the glue, I have a few old tubes of Testors that are surprisingly still viable. The smell takes me right back 50 plus years! Or maybe that's just the effects of the resin or whatever it contains!

Gotta be careful with Crazy Glue- it's kinda like Anti-Seize inasmuch as it tends to get all over everything sometimes.
Most hobby shops carry these, which work okay:

but the price will surprise you... around $20 last time I got any.

Paint will depend on what you're building.
Tamiya has good stuff for dioramas, weathering, chassis, interiors and stuff like that.
For car bodies I like to browse through the fingernail polish aisle at WallyWorld. You'd be amazed at how closely some of the colors match up to what you may be looking for. Thin it out and spray it on with an airbrush over a couple good coats of primer, as some nail polishes can "craze" bare styrene (basically a laquer).
