So can anyone tell me how much cam end play should there be with the milidon gear drive? I am guessing about 10 otherwise it might chew up the back side of the plate?

I run them tighter than that. I think I'm at .004 on mine. I've never done one over .007 and it came out of the box like that.

To tighten up the end play, just grab the hub in a lathe and machine about .005 off it and you'll be golden.

BTW, did you put a dial indicator on it yet, or is that just the feel?

Then here's you some more chub fuel. Although, I didn't use a Milodon gear drive. I used a Cloyes billet double roller and modified a small block Cloyes chain tensioner to fit.

I did install the milidon gear drive. Its awesome and doesn't make noise. Thanks to all the guys on here with the info and response to all the ?s that I had.
 

Old thread I know, but I have a gear drive on my 408, I was looking at either running the Romac Rollmaster CS5010 on another 408 I’m building... Not sure if I wanna spring for another Milodon, $$$, but there is some good info on this thread Regarding the setup.
 
What heads u have on it ect? Tell me more? I had a 416 with 550 hp and 560tq. I have 3 cars I mess with.
same numbers i have with my 426 stroker , i can get more but it's a daily driver that get driven 100+ miles a day
