Who would like to beta test one of my new voltage regulators?

Yes, I have one of those drawn up and the circuit board already laid out. Testing will start once the '70 and later is in production.
Will it matter that I'm using the later square back with the extra field grounded? I'm still using the early style voltage regulator.

To use Matt's '70 up you'll have to unground the field terminal, add a second wire, and splice in the VR Connector,

Update - a production snag means these are going to be using conventional circuit boards (at least at first) with a conventional heat sink instead of the aluminum PCB / integrated heat sink. Still on track for a July release. (Edit - early version said June, which is a bit of a stretch.)

I'd like to buy one when they are available. 72 Swinger with the 2 field connector alt is not charging even with a new regulator. I read that new ones are garbage so that makes it even more difficult to troubleshoot. Here's my tale of woe.

You won't have to wait long! I have almost all the items together to get these shipping.

Next up: Making an electronic version of the '69 and earlier mechanical voltage regulator. For the housing, I can get a 3D printed or possibly vacuum formed housing in the USA (more expensive but I have full control over the process), or I can import a Chinese repop of the mechanical regulator and put my own circuit board in it (cheaper and looks more like the original). Which would you rather see?
