Got a set of 15"x7" steel wheels I was thinking of putting on a 74 Dart.
Just trying to pick a tire. Was thinking of a 235/60-15.
235 is probably as wide as I want to go.

Anyone with pics/suggestions, running 15's would be appreciated.

Thanks.
JD

I got 235-15, 60's on the rear of My Dart and I really wish I had gotten 245's they look a little narrow and not the look I was going for .I'm stuck with them for now but I don't think they'll last all that long LOL .Once I shred em I'll get 245 or even 255's for the rear if they'll fit.

Any pics of the car ?

This is not a race car,so i'm not really interested in going really wide on this perticular car. Just looking for a nice sleeper look, with 15's.

Anyone else with 15" rims pics ?

Thank you Dreno, appreciate it. Car looks great.

Any other 15" wheel pics ?

I'm running 245's, on a 15 x 8 had to do a lil fender trimming but after that there is no rubbing. i'll see if I have a rear facing photo

What was the backspace on those rear rims. And what rearend did you have in it.

The stock 15x7 Mopar rim is 4.25" backspacing. Rarely will an aftermarket rim have that same exact backspacing.

15x7's with 4.25" and small bolt pattern original 8.75 put my 245/60/15 in my 68 Dart about dead center. And there is some slight tire rub, because my leaf bushings and springs are shot. This is close and it's just one car.

The passenger quarter panel is original. The drivers looks like someone tried to lip the edge. Might have had work done there, since I don't see as much original gold paint color there. I think the drives side is an original panel since it still has the OE rust proofing coating and pattern in the inside. Maybe some collision work done though.

Here's some pictures:

who are you asking that question of?

who are you asking that question of?

Steetdak specifically.

But anyone quoting tire fitments needs to list: tire size, rim diameter, rim width, and rim backspace or offset. Those all effect how the tire fits.

255/60-15 on 15x8 rims with 4.5" of back spacing. 4" or 4.25" of back spacing would have moved the wheel out some and made a little more for bigger tires. A buddy of mine has 275/60 on cop car wheels on his 67 Barracuda but IMHO that size tire is starting to look out of place on the car.

Believe it or not its a 15x8 Draglight with 4.5 in backspacing. I know this cause it was the incorrect backspacing when I had them on my Lt1 Z28. When I put the tires on could couldn't fit 2 quarters between them and the lip of the fender. Simple grinder took care of the lip and now got about 1/2 - 3/4 inches of clearance and no rubbing even with 4 people in the car

oh and btw its right now it has a 7.5 rear with 4 on 4.5 BBP, didn't realize i NEEDED to post that info hahaha just messin :p

i have 275 60 15 in rear 205 up front on my duster heard 255 was max on dart without modification
