These past few weeks have been crazy stressful and sure enough, my massive heartburn attacks have returned. These attacks are so bad that they can literally incapacitate me and make me useless so I had to do something while I was on the road. Sure enough I spotted a Walgreens and pulled over to get some Gaviscon. Gaviscon is the ONLY med that gives me instant relief from the pain. It was in the high 90's so on the way out I grabbed a Coke too. BTW, I can pop tagamets all day and they have zero effect on me. Nothing works but the Gaviscon.

So, I get back in the company van and promptly pop the cap and chew 4 tabs, swallow and reach for my Coke to wash it down. As soon as the Coke meets the residue of the Gaviscon in my mouth there is an instant chemical reaction that creates a tremendous amount of pressure and foam. :-D I can't possibly hold it in so it sprays out all over my dash, steering wheel and inside the windsheild. I took a look in the mirror and my mustache and mouth were covered in foam. I looked like a rabid dog. I instantly started cracking up at the situation and wondered if anyone was watching. I imagine they would have called the cops after seeing me laughing my *** off, face covered in foam and white crap all over the windshield while parked in a plain white van.......

I just had to share this. Life is a trip and stuff like this makes life worth living. 8) Have a great 4th of July weekend everyone.

" ... an Anthrax Alert was issued this afternoon in Metropolitan Denver ... a suspicious caucasian man in a white van is suspected as the ring leader ..."

:-D

GREAT STORY!!! I wish you had a video.

I need to find a picture of ramcharger and do some touch up work on him and post it here :-D:-D and call it rabid Joe :-D
Thank you for a laugh this morning Joe, something I have learned in the past was never drink while eating your lunch or dinner, wait till you are dun eating A doc told me this a few years ago and it helped me with hart burn.
You have a great Strong end and enjoy our 4th of July
My grandmothers birthday RIP Grandma :love7:

Now that's funny :-D Cleaning the dash was probably less amusing :-D

Hey, Ram, have you tried Prilosec? I've had the same problem, now as I take it daily, its goooonnnne. Rog

If this happens again, it may be great fun to run around the parking lot bellowing "RRRAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!" or something similar.

Funny story!!!

You may want to lay off the caffeine for a while, should help with the heartburn (been there)

Thanks, for sharing that, Joe. Got me laughing!

Funny. That's the same reaction as baking soda and vinager in your mouth. Human fire extinguiser LOL
Struck me as odd that you grabbed a coke though. 3 of the 4 acids used to sterialize aluminum foil are in a coke.
There were times when the only thing I could drink was Hi-C and I cut it 50% water. I've been on Prilosec daily for a few years now. Ocassionally I'll need a swig of Mylanta to boot but I can drink a coke if I want. Eat most anything I want too. Good luck

I always carry a bunch of napkins in the van glove box but yeah, that part pretty much sucked. :read2:

Video at 10:00 ????????????

I'm tempted to experiment with this...... :snakeman:

Way too much info. there Joe!!! I hope when all was said and done that you were feeling better.

It did work to kill the heartburn. TMI? 'Cmon, if this happened to one of your co-workers in the shop you'd be on the floor man. :-D It would be too much info if I actually swalloed half a coke with that stuff, lol.

Nice RC!

LMAO,hope you ok tho.Thank you sir may I have anouther.

Heartburn was gone. 8)

It's just a temporary condition due to stress and too much coffee. I can go years without it happening and WHAM, it gets me.

If this happens again, it may be great fun to run around the parking lot bellowing "RRRAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!" or something similar.

I was thinking of doing this to the dogs so they foam at the mouth and covering myself in fake blood for Halloween. :snakeman:

Yeah, things just have to calm down some at work. This monday we switched to an automated dispatching system and I could write a book on the havoc it's caused.

Glad you liked it Rameneth. I swear if I was in the van with one of my techs and it happened them, I'd a fell out the door in a fit. :-D

All you can do is laugh, a couple month ago I was driving on the highway and a gulp of coke went down the wrong way, yep, I sprayed it all over the windshield, dash, and wheel.

Ramcharger, I assume you have been screened for h. pilori(sp?) It is a common bacteria that lives in the stomach, found to be the source of heartburn in many people. Easy to treat, my Dad had it, took some pills which cleared it up, and his heartburn is gone. He had been forced to give up beer and rum and coke's but now he can enjoy them again without any problems.

Naaa. Like I said earlier, it only crops up when under serious stress every few years or so. Two years worth of Gaviscon ( about 20 bucks for me) is cheaper than than my deductible for one doc visit. All they'd tell me to do is not work 12 hours a day for 8 hrs. pay and I'd be fine, lol.

There are no other jobs though..... I have what I have and I'm damn glad to have it....
