Any ideas as to why the wipers on my 1974 Duster just stop in place when I turn them off, instead of "parking"? The 3 speed motor has been professionally rebuild, as have all the linkages and wiper arms. All wiring looks good. Has the original wiper switch. Ideas?

There is a park cam switch deal on the motor/ gearbox. Loosen screws a carefully rotate outer plate to set park position (little hash marks stamped in). Anyway, if that doesn't work at all they may just run on or stop any position. That's all I recall about it other than ground jumper on the motor and some require the switch to be grounded. Good luck

make sure the switch is grounded. I recently upgraded my gauges to aftermarket gages in a modified factory cluster housing but the headlight and wiper switch are mounted into a plastic insert now and no longer in the metal cluster housing. The first time I tried using my wipers, they wouldn't park. Running a ground to the switch body fixed it though

Yep... won't park if the cluster is hanging out and not grounded!

Somehow the "Park" function is not working. If you hade a 2 speed wiper, I could help. I rebuilt one a few years ago and wrote a how to article. Try looking in a factory repair manual. That is where I found out how to test mine, and the "Park" function was one of the test.

as you can see from the Chrysler video there are several park functions. the simplest is friction stop where you finetune the position by way of the cover on the gear box. others have dedicated field windings and the switch provides power to the correct field at the needed time with the assistance of the parking switch in the gearbox

I placed a jumper wire from the wiper ground strap to the battery negative post, then tried the wipers. They still don't park.

Do the same from the switch itself. You can wrap one end of the wire to a body bolt and the wedge the other end in behind the knob
