WIW ? CRUSHER / SCRAP price for a 67 BARRACUDA ???? 2 days till crusher !!!

-
we arent even close to that # for scrap around here whole cars are going at $50-$100 at the most ..
he is full of it who would pi$$ away a few hundred bucks just to be an ahole.

Same here in socal. My brother took a honda down to the scrap yard and got 37 bucks for it. LOL Around here he may get 50-75 bucks for it.

why is it that these special cars always seem to end up in the hands of some a-hole like this fella...give me big bucks or the car gets it...what a douchebag.....

That is a very good question! Why does that always happen! :angry7:

He got what he wanted..... Exposure for a car he wanted to sell..... For 3 pages you have willingly played his game....

I would like to suggest that threads like this be not allowed
.

I dont think prohibiting threads like this will accomplish anything........

Aside from this being a really moronic tactic to sell a car, if the way this lunatic approachjes selling a car gets the car sold to someone who will take care of it, who cares how its done. Its just marketing at that point...no different than beer companies using supermodels to sell the same thing. LOL It makes us look.

I was seriously considering going to look at it since it is close for me (well, an hour or two...but its not the 6 hrs that all the good cars seem to be )....he never returned my email. I may not have seen the car ad at all had it not been for this thread in this forum.

Maybe "someone" got the car and will restore it now. Isn't that what we all want?

Or maybe it was all a bunch of BS and its a troll like I said earlier....

Either way, its just a few pages of banter. 8) No harm done IMHO.
but it does play into the hands of the troglydites (sp?) who use the tactic.

Hey all. The car is saved from the crusher. I got it. It took 2 weeks waiting to here from Irv, but I traded a 73 slant six Swinger for it. It is a 67 according to the VIN, don't know why it has 68 side markers. Build date is December. It is originaly a slant six auto on the column bench seat car. It's is ruogh, but restorable. Got it as a project for my kid who just turned 16 and is wanting to learn bodywork.

I saw the car on moparts and never seen any of the ads about crushing it. Wish I would have been on here and seen all of this. He was a really nice guy in person. Course I didn't know about all the ranting. He told me he just wanted a Dart, not money. I had a Dart nobody wanted and the kid wanted a cuda so I guess everything worked out OK. I'll post pics of the car as we fix it.

Aahhhh! Nobody didn't get their *** whoop!

Just can't have no fun... not even a good swift kick in the nuts... nothing!

Just kidding ... I'm really glad you saved that car from the crusher and that guy with the sour attitude.

Did he even have a pulse?

Hope you have fun with it..... I bet the 16 yr old is excited.

Well in my opinion from those e-mails that we have in front of us, he is still an a-hole who needs to get a good beating. Nobody should act like that.... heck, I woulda flipped him off as I drove away with the car.... he doesn't deserve anything but that....

And yes, pics would be nice too. Nice job getting the car from him

:cheers::cheers: is what you get for saving this car from pending disaster(or so it seemed).
Now when you say its a 67' made in December, do you mean December 67'? Where is the vin tag? Dash or door pillar? 67' cars were on the door pillar and 68' cars were on the driver's side of dash.

The VIN is on the door pillar. The sixth digit is a 7, so 1967. The build date on the fender tag is CO2, and as far as I can find that is Dec. Let me know if I'm wrong. I looked at the VIN and saw it was a slant six, fifth digit B, before I agreed to trade. It was already converted to a 318 (K-member changed to v-8 one)tho, so now I don't have to do it. I had a 68 fastback a few years ago that had Plymouth spelled out in single letters across the front like a 67. I didn't see all the bad e-mails and replies by him. I saw the add on moparts, e-mailed him and waited for a reply. He sent me his number, I called, couple days later went and looked at it, he came the next day and looked at the Dart, brought the cuda to me and took the Dart two days later. Had no problems with him. Didn't know he was being such a jerk on other sites and to other people. Maybe because he knew I was taking it? My kid is just glad to have a Cuda to fix up and enjoy.

Maybe it's a very early production '68 made with left over '67 parts? There's a few guys over on the BOG list that can probably shed more light on early'68 vs late '67 builds and all the parts that got swapped around according to what was in the bins on the assembly line.

Glad you saved it! And for those who think it should have been crushed to make yours worth more....Real nice a$$hole.

Yeah C02 is for Dec. 66'. Check to make sure that the shipping order number matches the one on the rad support. All the 68 stuff seems a bit suspicious.

Well the best thing out of all this fuss,is one happy 16 year old A-bodie owner!Congrats on your new project! Now you need to post pics.titled SAVED FROM THE CRUSHER!!LOL!!

Both the front and read marker lights were added later on that car. They are not in factory 68 locations.

Its easy to over look.... I just figured it out myself when I went and looked at my car.

COOL  im glad somebody got the BARRACUDA

MARK where is Dysart,Pa. ? is that in the middle of the state ? or is it still the Pittsburgh area ?

The gas tank was still in the car. So the 68 lights were added by a previous owner, I can get rid of them then, more holes for the kid to practice welding. He is very excited about this car. Goes for his permit test in the morning.
Dysart is about 14 miles North of Altoona, around 1 1/2-2 hours North of Pittsburgh.
Some other numbers on the fender tag I can't find are top line under a-6, under b-4, second row under R-1, under T-4. Under TRM-H6B, under PNT-881, UBS under the B-E. Does anyone know these? Thanks.
