If you have a nice A-Body why not go with factory parts? Have you priced new driveshafts? Dennys Driveshafts Dodge Driveshaft Plymouth Chrysler Aluminum and Steel Driveshafts for your Mopar performance street car or truck muscle car or race car. High Speed balanced and Tested for smooth vibration free performance.I know I'm probably wrong, but I'd have a hard time thinking that an A-body owner would pay more than what it costs for a new driveshaft for an NOS piece. But then again, it only take one.
Priceiest? The cheapest one the list is $495! There is someone out there who would love to have the PO's driveshaft for $500. There are people who want original parts over aftermarket anyday...I actually just had one made at a great local driveline shop last year for my '66. 3" x .083 DOM tube, new ends with spicer 1350 joints. Ended up right at $250 balanced and painted.
I'm sure Denny's makes excellent driveshafts too, but comparing any of their pricier offerings to an NOS piece is a bit apples to orange, don't you think??
I've just always thought of A-bodies as the red headed step children of the Mopar world and a numbers matching driveshaft just doesn't give me the semi that it may to others.
