I feel a little bad about posting this with so many people having a tough time but maybe some good news be nice. Well,it took 28 years but we are "mortgage free":blob:! Just in time too cause Lori is going to retire in 17 months,me ,I don't know when Ill pack it in but this really takes a load off.We are also debt free, don't owe for nuttin.:cheers:

Congratulation DRENO
I am sure it has been a long haul to get to where you and Mrs DRENO are today.
You ready to have a mortgage burning party :blob::blob::hello2:
I went to one this year and it was so cool to see the paper work hit the bon fire

Don't feel bad about posting this. It is a great day you should be proud and I bet you are. There are more important things to worry about in life.

Congrats! Being debt free and having a paid for place to live is a very nice thing and makes sleeping much easier. You will finally be able to save and also have some change for the toys.

Congratulations. Never apologize for taking care of your own finances properly and not needing any bailouts.

I started buying a house in 2009. So far I'm paying more than the minimum payment and keeping pace with the drop in value. :D We're paying off everything more quickly than the minimums...It's kind of nice.

Congratulation's! a good feeling and good luck on your future retirement.

Congrats! It's a great feeling, but now you'll need another tax exemption! lol

We purchased this house, our second, (in Georgia) in 1988 on a 30 year note, and refinanced in 1992 to a 10 year note and a better interest rate. Payments only changed by $4.00 a month. House was paid off in 2002.

We bought a third house (in Florida) in 2003, and it will be paid off in 2013.

We also still own our first house up in New Jersey, we paid that one off in 1993.

When we are mortgage free again, the plan is to buy a condo in Florida. Then, we can unload a house to each of our three kids (that'll cover their inheritance), and move into the condo, and let someone else mow the lawn and clean the pool, and worry about the properties. lol

Congratulations on your major accomplishment!

now you can get another A-body.

Congrats man. I am glad someone has some good fortune. Good for yall.

Great job We've been debt free for 5 years sure makes a difference
and feels real good.

Congratulations!

I'm looking forward to that day as well. Unfortunately, I expect it to be 14 years down the road from now. At least it's still in sight.

Congratulations to you and your wife. Mortgage burnings are becoming rare. Many of us remember the All In The Family episode where Archie and Edith burned their mortgage..."careful Edith, don't burn the house down."

Congrats on the accomplishment you deserve it, that was alot of hard work and sacrifice. 7 1/2 years more for me, but only because I bought another motorcycle dealership last year and it put me back 5 more years. Can't wait to join the paid off club.
