    Torsion bar Removal Technique

are you saving the old bars to either re-sell or keep around? Mine were REALLY nicked up so I just cut them in half with a cutoff wheel and they dropped right out. But the tie down and come along idea was good thinking!

    K member question

http://www.engine-swaps.com/ they have a chart and pics so you can look and be 100% sure. you have use the pull down menu on the left and they have a k-fram identification section. but they should be the same as long as 1 wasnt a slant6 and the other a v8

    Torsion Bar Selection

I went with 890 bars and also added coronet front shocks because of the extra weight of the 440 I dropped into my 66. I also added a sway bar. As you can see in the pic the combo has the front end up really nice even with a 440/727 combo in a car that came with no bigger than a 273 from the factory.

    flat bed towing

I agree that the it would be best to pull it from the k-frame. The only issue would be the bracket that goes from the front valance to the k-frame. Id use 2 loops (1 to either side of it) as opposed to grabbing from the center of the k-frame so that bracket doesnt get bent or break free from the...

My frame must have been a mouse house.

I found the same thing when I was blasting the underside. I scraped as much as I could and then used a pressure washer with warm water to finish it off. Blew out as much of the excess water as I could with my compressor and then just put a couple space heaters facing the areas to finish the dry...

    Man is this spindell toast.

Like was said already, as long as the bearing slides on and isnt loose it should be fine to run on until you come across a new spindle and have the time to swap them out. Just make sure that bad spot is nice and smooth and doesnt have even the smallest burs and you should be good.

How bad did I drop the ball?

Rather than trying to go through court docs, call a lawyer and talk with them. Most lawyers offer their initial consultation for free. And if the police give you a hard time just contact your states attorney general's office and report them. Thats the attorney generals job, to ensure that all...

How bad did I drop the ball?

Im not sure where exactly the car is but check the laws there. In ohio you cant refuse to relase a vehicle for non payment if there isnt a signed contract or estimate (has to do with the value of the work not being equal to the value of the car). The way it works here is that you have to contact...

    Motor Mounts

I know you can get a steering box from Autozone or Napa, if you want to pay around 225-250 (reman) Rockauto used to sell the rebuild kits but I dont think they do anymore. And I can tell you that I did a friends cheby and it called for 80w90 gear oil. I cant say if it would be the same for our...

    I think I screwed up

when you installed the torsion bars did you make sure you had the car jacked up by the frame with the lower control arms pushed all the way down? They have to be all the way down before you re-install the t-bars. After that you then would have thrown a jack under the lower control arms to get...

    Uca question

The torsion bars can stay. Like you said just get a jack under the lower control arm and spindle. Once to get the nuts to break its really simple after that.

How bad did I drop the ball?

I would find another mechanic. I have pulled the entire front suspension (including t-bars), torn it all down, sandblasted it, rebooted and re bushed it, did a paint and bake on everything, and installed the scarebird conversion. Im about 90% done and I have less than 40 total hours time in on...

    Upper Control Arm Removal Tips

Im sure you already know this, but I always start with a nice dousing of PB Blaster. After I got the car up I threw a second jack un the lower control arms and disconnected them, then SLOWLY lowered the 2nd jack. This took all the tension off the uppers and they came off easy as can be. But, I...

    suspension kits???

For sure do poly. Ive heard of far too many people that end up having to replace rubber boots withn 3 years. I was looking for a suspension kit before I sandblasted my existing and decided to re-boot and bush it. I spent a lot of time looking and I agree with Leanna that Just Suspension offers...
