Whats with Dodge in Nascar? Why the lack of commitment from Dodge?
The new Challengers and Chargers are cool. its all impala's and Camary's. They run Dodge commercials during the races. Thank god for Kurt Busch
Toyota is kicking ***. This is the world I am living in

To me, it is all just a bunch of tube-framed race cars with the same body with different engines and styling decals on them.

I liked them back in the 60s and early 70s when they were 'stock' cars.

Nascar is Crap and NHRA is getting to be the same thing, seems it's always the Force, & Summit shows. I'm not bashing either of them i am just sayin,

i dont even see dodge in the truck series anymore, funny i thought they were doing good until i realized they were toyotas and not dodge trucks. as far as the cup series, there has to be something wrong if petty is using his name on ford teams. penske is the only one holding the torch for now. guess it all comes down to whos going to give the most money for testing and such, thats where the teams will flock to. not a whole lot of brand loyalty anymore.

At least with drag racing you still see guy's taking thier own cars on to the track. Nascar is commercialised right to hell and back. Maybe Dodge doesnt like Nascar for the same reasons we dont?

Someone with deep pockets needs to hear the cries of those who want vintage racing and creat a "Vintage Nascar Series" or something to that affect. Couldn't call it Nascar. That would be cool. The greed for money has ruined everything. Nascar has evolved into something that's for people who really don't know **** about cars or care about their history.

X2 just like the nostalgia drag races those are cool too.

i wish they had more brand identity like the old Richard Petty day's. Nascar is bigger than ever so I guess people don't care Sucks seeing Toyota dominating though
Continueing sign of our times We our losing our jobs'manufacturing base, and before you know it Nascar will be all rice burners-Take a look now-scary!
Before you know it we will all be trading in our Mopars on Tuners?

They did it with them little Legend racers so why not? It would go over big until NASCAR bought it up to milk it.

I don't watch much, I'll watch bristol or virginia but thats prolly cause i'm a short track racer

Easy enough use the original name STOCK CAR RACING. I grew up with the Petty's, Wood Brothers,Pearson,Yarborough,Roberts and such when racing was racing. You won't find the same ingenuity and inventiveness now like you did then.

because nascar isn't about the cars anymore
it's all about the "celebrity" drivers
its more of a TV show than a race

even bristol had lots of empty seats and they always sold out. i only watch it because its still too cold to go outside and work on the car. heres what i think is killing the sport:1.too much money involved
2.the core fans dont want to see rich boys, we want to see people who came from the grass roots with no money and lots of grit.
3. i for myself dont want to see foriegn manufacturers in the sport.
4. points system needs to go back to pre 2001 days.
5. too many dumb rules leaving no room for teams to engineer any type of advantage.
6. the cars dont look like anything in the showroom.
7. the sponsors pick the drivers based on looks and not racing credentials.
8. they worry too much about trying to keep up with other sports like the nfl, therefore making too many dumb things like a gopher or trying to make drivers look like rock stars when the cameras should be on the race.
9.throwing caution flags whenever the field gets too spread out which kind of defeats the purpose of a race.
this is just my opinion and the reason i have lost so much interest in a sport that once consumed me.maybe dodge feels the same way like its a losing battle to excel in the sport.

In the golden age of nascar, the 60's, it was about "stock cars". So the factory produced cars the were raceable. Thats why Chrysler & Ford dominated. When was the last time you saw a pushrod rear wheel drive toyota? It's about the money, sponsors and the drivers. There is no ingenuity, because if you do something different these days, you're cheating. When honda gets into it, I'm done! At least drag racers have bracket racing that anyone can get into.

Got that right . Its about Earnhardt Jr . And whats he done the last three years ? absolutely NOTHING !!!

heh, it's just a shame..........waited for mopar to get back into nascar in 2002, and it was on w/about 8 teams, now corporate doesn't do anything for the sake of dodge motorsports......what happened to win on sunday, sell on monday?

it's just to bad, mopars ruled back in the day........
higgs

There is so much money involved it is just a matter of time before Honda, Nissan, BMW, Hyundi. get into the fold for Brand recognition.
Nascar has no assembledge of its founding day's. From running moonshine, to dirt tracks, to actual Stock cars. I watch some actual "stock Car Racers" Darryl Waltrip Jimmy Spencer commenting on the races now and it makes you wonde??r Our we going to see these guy's selling ***** enlarging pills on late night TV also??? (Jimmy Johnson -football coach)
After this post i am going to support my local STOCK CAR track much more this summer
YOUR RIGHT ITS STILL STOCK CAR RACING
We have a nice dirt and asphalt track by my house

Nascar is crumbling apart. Nascar has been trying to sell the drivers instead of the manufactures, just like wrestling.
People that like Nascar, still cheer for their namplate. This is where Nascar has dropped the ball.
The Domestic manufactures has brought this to their attention, as a result, the cars are supposed to start looking more like the models they sell.
In my opinion, the sheet metal should be the same as the car in the showroom. open the rules to allow wheel openings to be modified & adhere to the current safty standards.
Find a compromise with the spoilers & allow only the V-8 engines found in production of that model of car.
I would like to see it come down to the Challenger, Mustang, & Camaro duking it out.
There isn't a V-8 toyota car made. So this leaves them at the curb, unless they step up to the plate.
Let the manufactures modify there OEM V-8's, no speacialty Nascar engines like they have now.
You wouldn't have to worry about restrictor plates anymore.
Make Nascar a more of run what you brung & hope you brung enough.
NHRA is just as bad with their PRO-STOCK cars. The new Avenger looks like crap, the only thing that I can identify is the grille. I don't think the body in white applies to it anymore.
Pontiacs running Chevrolet style engines. They don't even make Pontiacs anymore.
The current Pro-Stocks look more like a Funny car than a Stocker. The funny cars look like something from outer space.
Racing needs to get back to its roots to survive.
At least thats my opinion.

I agree, if it's not sold to the public it's not to be raced... Then we could see who is a real driver, Sure we need safety, But if they was to go back to a real car and not these tube frames and crazy engines and just start with the block the car was sold with would bring back many folks and more teams would form... JMO... Like homecloned I am in it to win in Fabo nascar pick-em

It would be so cool to see something that looked like a Mustang, Charger, Camaro
I just starting really watching Nascar this season and I was Like WTF? The Camary's just BUG ME!!! Not right! AJ Foyt would slug-em

It all started with restrictor plates and went downhill from there.
