What makes Mopar stand out ?

What makes Mopar stand out..?

For me, it's a combination of two things -

Performance items and, for lack of a better word:

"Quirkyness"

Performance items such as the HEMI engines with their funky manifolds, the bulletproof 727 Torqueflights and 8 3/4 & Dana rear ends, and of course the unrivaled, outstanding all-time classic body designs of the '67 Cudas, the '68 Chargers and the early 1970s Challies & Cudas..

And the "quirky stuff" is like the whole Road Runner motif, the Super Birds, the Six-Pack and HEMI hood-Scoops, the Pistol-Grip Shifters and those Strobe side-stripes, Day-Glo colors and huge bilboard callouts on the rear quarters... Items that the corporate stuffed suits at GM or Ford would never attempt...
(Corvettes, Hurst Olds and Shelby being some noteable exceptions)

That's what makes MOPAR stand out for me..

An "In-Your-Face" combination of Form and Fuction far above the commonly accepted "norm" at the time..

Just my opinion...:)

Nothing like a high dollar hemi in a showcar that gets dragged hard.

Yep, there's just something about a Mopar that makes heads snap.

Different is good.

Nascar inspired motors will make them stand out.

Acid colors and a drag stance makes them stand out.

Cool backgrounds and sky blue paint makes them stand out.

They are very patriotic

Just pure bad ***, what else can I say?

Exactly, CudaSpaz...:glasses8:

It's as if MOPARS are the "Black Sheep" of the Muscle Car universe...

and that, in my book, is a good thing..

They stand out because for every (15) Chevys and (10) Fords, you see just (1) Mopar. That's what makes Carlisle and the Mopar Nationals so cool!

I would say, reliability and uniquiness. Along being the Bad Boy Car. Everyone put them down in public, because anyone could build up and Mustang or Chevy cheaply, it took money (still does) to own a mopar. But who was winning at the track.

Whos drive train was indestructable? Whos Cars could be bought as race cars in drag? Whos cars were really feared at a stop light drag?

What company kept there factory race team and used them and pre production engineers?

What company had the balls (and still does) to engineer, make it work, market, and produce new things? the Hemi, the Viper, the Prowler, The Challenger and Charger, the PT Cruiser, the Daytona and Super Bird

Sure Chevy had the "mystery motor" but didnt do anything with it, not sure what factory stuff Ford did, A SOHC 427, but not much happened with it on the street.

What company let you mix and match options? You look at a Z28, and the next 20 of them at a car show are all the same. Check the right options on a Mopar option sheet and you can build 1of 3 Superbirds with a 4 speed, no console, bucket seat, Hemi cars lke my friend Bob has.

Expensive parts and a lot more work :p haha

Oh, and at least where I live, everyone owns a Mustang or Camaro...

It's only the biggest, baddest and coolest f#%king shifter in the history of automobiles.

Who else would put a 440 in a grocery getter and kick *** to the store and back...... and not break an egg.

...and also get you back home from the store before the ice cream melted!

They stand out to me because I grew up in the 90's and still saw a lot of Chevys and Fords around. Having a Mopar really makes me feel like I've got a piece of a time in history when cars were cars. That and I can roll into any local car show and be pretty sure I'll be one of the only Mopars and probably the only A-body there!

- Torsion Bar suspension
- First affordable Muscle Car
- 340 = the BEST performance small block , period
- Minimal amounts of smog devices
- Earliest "breakerless ignition" ( mid-1971 )
- BEST auto trans made , bar none !
- Most complete police package vehicles

All of the above. However to me it's the people. We have Mustang clubs, Camaro clubs, Chevelle clubs, Firebird clubs, Other ford clubs, BOP clubs, Corvette clubs. All of them separate, all of them supporting their own particular model of a marque.

We have MOPAR clubs! Whether old, new, stock, modified, A, B, C, E, F, G, K, LX we all apprecaite and hang together. That's what does it for me! Besides the fact they are the best looking lol..

I second this, everyone else subcatagorizes themselves, MOPAR people appreciate EVERY model...there are no inter-make rivalries.

The late 60's/early 70's era muscle cars did it for me. These Mopars have a unique look between styling and color. From a history perspective, they DOMINATED the race tracks in their era. Also, Mopars back then were always the cutting edge in performance balancing power and weight. I did like it when they released the re-designed Rams in 1993. I thought it was an aggressive look and a bold move. I like the SRT8's in terms of power, but they are too heavy and it's not worth their weight in gold. They are priced out of my budget.

Sheer numbers here. Check Chevelle, Camaro and Mustang numbers for one year and you've probably equaled or outdid an 11 year run of Mopar Muscle. To be the underdog yet fight and win puts Mopar head and shoulder above the brands that are common as pocket lint.

How about our hoods ?
