You know this lee sitton is a scum , he knew exactly was he was buying a hot car and tried to wait it out , he could have sold that car during the craze and made a fortune why would he wait until now when the market sucks , Yellow Bullit go get him , I tried to leave a message on his phone it went right to machine
 
This is a precedent of the original owner getting his car back. There was story of the corvette that got returned to the original after 20+ years of it being stolen and sold. It happened/was in the news 1-2 years ago. The vette is silver is I'm no mistaken.

regular people don't and will never understand what a car can mean to some people .....the passion around a classic car and principle of our right to own property in this country will over shadow any logic.

a first time offender will get 10 - 15 in prison ....but at least the car will there when he or she gets out and even if not .....sometimes, its the principle that means more than the game.
 
The title of this thread should be changed to include the tap-dancing scumbag thief Lee Sitton so that this thread gets a hit when his name of All American Construction is googled.
 
really the contractor guy is admitting guilt here ....if he was any kind of stand up man he would rat out who he got it from. Ratting is usually not good but the case of finding a POS car thief, ratting is a must and unless he is guilty he needs to pass the guilt on to the real POS. (excuse potty mouth.....I am passionate about this topic)

I don't know if it would be ratting out if it would clear up a crime. Would it be ratting out if you saw someone do a hit and run, or some other crime? It's not like they are jaywalking or littering or 'california' stop at a stop sign.
 
Even if he didn't know it was stolen when he bought it from the thief, that is a non issue; the car still belongs to the original owner. Ignorance is no excuse of the law. It was up to him to check / confirm that the car was not stolen.

A bill of sale has no value if the seller(thief) doesn't own the car he is offering for sale. I could sell you the Brooklyn Bridge and even give you a written bill of sale.

This whole thing is whack. The cops look like morons in the interview. A title to a vehicle is proof of ownership. The other evidence (police report of the stolen vehicle, etc) is supportive as well. This is no different than a mortgage deed to a property. Whoever has their name recorded on the deed is the legal owner. Period, Regardless of how many times the property may have changed hands, traded, or whatever.
 
He won't say anything about who stole it, because he's not clean. He knows that would also backfire in his face, immensely.

I think the cops should land who stole the car and hit him with aiding and abating if he doesn't squeal.

There is a trail of people that is anything, but anonymous. They supposedly had contracts involved, so it doesn't matter who stole it or how many hands it has traveled through. Once they get to the bottom of it, the guilty will be up against a grill. All of them.

My question;

What in the **** is he going to do with the car? Drive it around? Sell it? I'd love to see him try.

Info was just posted on another forum (Hotrodders.com) that Multnomah County Sheriffs Office has seized the car today, as part of an "joint and ongoing investigation" with the Portland Police Bureau, Sheriffs Dept, and the Multnomah County DA's Office.

No further comment do to "ongoing investigation"

Looks like something is happening, this was posted from an E-mail from Sgt. Peter Simpson, Portland Police Bureau Media Relations, Crimestoppers Coordinator; to a member at Hotrodders who had e-mailed the officials in the area about this outrage.

Sounds like the dirtbag dumped it off and trying to wash his hands of it. I hope the couple gets it back. Even if it's missing parts off it.

The Plymouth had been reported stolen in 2001, and purged from the Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) as a stolen vehicle years after. Barring a court order to the contrary, the Plymouth will be returned to its registered and titled owner.

The Plymouth is not in drivable condition, with many essential parts and components missing. Efforts continue to recover the remainder of the vehicle.

No arrest has been made by MCSO at this time, the case will be presented to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office for review.

The vehicle is not available for media to view at this time as the investigation continues.

Hello all. I am Rick White's daughter. I wanted to publicly thank you all for all your support and help in the retrieval of my Dad and brother's Cuda. The local ABC affiliate, KATU, will be filmng the car tomorrow and all will be able to see the car. I will also post some pictures, I hope, tomorrow evening. There was also a story on KATU this evening regarding the car.

Lee Sitton I hope one day will answer for his crimes he has committed against my Dad and brother in a court of law. I hope one day he gets to spend lots of "quality" time with folks at the local penitentiary and then rots in hell where he truly belongs!!

Thank you all again. I just found this forum last night and I read through all the comments on every single page. Took me awhile for sure.


 
Personally I think the fight has just started. Judging from what "Frenchie" who claims to be the owner's daughter, sounds to me like finding the car is just getting things rolling

We should all post craig's list ads for the 70 Cuda 440 six pak for $5k with both his personal cell phone and business phone numbers. List the business phone to call during working hours and cell between 12 AM & 6 AM so he gets woke up in middle of the night. Let his secretary at work get cluster-f&cked with phone calls.

He will have to change his phone numbers to get away from it all. But changing his business phone number may also hurt his business, or will he just keep the current one and hope the calls subside. Any business cards, advertisements, and company cars with name and phone on it will have to be fixed if he has to change it.
 
Probably sold driveline for over $5k. Whatever else was extra. It will be interesting to see when it was cannibalized. If after the Whites heard from the DMV, then maybe Sitton/Sutton will have to answer for it. Time will tell.

One thing that anybody that knows anything about cars does know is that nobody chops up and discards rare valuable parts off of a rare valuable car that's in good shape. It doesn't happen. - That is, it doesn't happen for legitimate reasons. Unless the purchaser knew the car was stolen and that they could never license it or that they found out that they were likely to have to give the car back and then decided to steal everything off it that they could. A thorough investigation should be able to determine how long (approximately) that the parts have been taken from the vehicle. If the parts have recently been removed then the buyer is a thief now. If they were removed long ago then he was aware long ago that the vehicle was stolen and is guilty of involvement with the original theft.
