He said he buggered it up somehow. How? dunnoNo reason he can't drop the stock dist. back in...........
So did I, not a fan either. Now have a killer Die Hard. Last Diehard lasted my 10 years and it was still good when I replaced it.Btw, i had an optima battery once. Not a fan.

Correct, by the late 70s or a bit earlier, they were kind of sharing, b-o-p , buick olds pontiac,
Your fire chicken of that era could of had a just about any thing, 403 olds, 455 pontiac, 400 pontiac, its confusing...

What is a yak?
That`s the only reason I was asking just incase the op was placing the firing order in the wrong rotation and cause havoc. Just trying to help the OP. I`ve read chev based engine.Pay attention to the little asterisk. See where it says the distributor rotates clockwise? You know why? Because the 307 was not a Pontiac engine. It was an Oldsmobile engine sold in Pontiacs. Pontiac never made a 307.

Anywho , strange it ran great before he did all that work, seems timing related to me.
Good luck OP
The engine in the photos clearly is a Poncho unit. Poncho dizzys spin counterclockwise.................No one ever put a chev in a yak?
