Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good Morning. I wish it was my company - even when there are grandkids, they wouldn't have to work....

I have informed my son we are going to spend as much time as possible in the shop working on his rat rod. We intend him to be able to drive it to school next fall - his senior year.
Morning to all,
My painter has informed me he has a slot to paint the Demon on 2/25/19. Time to put up or shut up for me, I have a lot to do. Holy smokes I am now playing beat the clock. Attached is a picture of the interior to shojust how far behind I am. I lost last weekend going down to Chicago to watch the hapless Hawks get thrashed by the Jets. I will be working on Demon relentlessly over the holidays.

That would be really cool!! My Dad was never home when I was a kid. He was a military guy and always gone. I never got the toolman education. When I got older and in to old cars I had to depend on friends to show me the ropes. I've learned a lot too listening to you guys....about cars. Most the rest is BS...
I'm lucky I have a bored older neighborhood who grew up, and later owned and sold a auto parts store and shop. He knows it all and has every tool known to man....haha. All I have to do is call him and ask if he wants to work on the cars, and he's down in a flash.

Eric when you get tired of all the meetings just sell the company and work on the cars all day.

That is cool you have someone to help and all these guys (and Rani) to help too. I was into cars when I was in high school, hearing stories from Dad (in my Avatar) about his Demon (I own now) and racing. Then my son and I built my rat rod a few years ago and gathered parts for one for his. Now needing to finish his car. I took the day off work and drove (and picked him up from) his first day of school in my car. He thought it was really cool.

And I am struggling with a ball and trunnion!
My goal for the weekend is to have the tranny under sheet metal. As I do not have a fancy fancy with lasers I will have to make the hump the old way on a brake with a taper. Yep I been putting that off. I also need to sort out the dash as I am painting inside and out.

Nice. I wish I had either. Just a small 18" hf brake I picked up years ago. Works, but sucks also.

Looks like Friday might be nice around here. Might be a good day to get the shop organized. Want to put the sun testers against the far wall out of the way. Hopefully I am up to it, been down all week so far. Lots of stuff need to be moved.

I go out to the restoration shop my buddy has and watch him form metal. Its pretty amazing the tings he does. And wielding he's the man with what he can do.

I built a brake. Bought an english wheel from princess auto and immediadely welded a bunch uf steel to it to make it stiffer. Same with the bead roller.it was flimsy too. Built a planishing hammer and last thing was the stand for the shrinker/stretcher.
Next is a small table for my plasma cutter. And a guide for cutting straight lines with the plasma.
Seems i have spent more time building tools than working on my cars.
But i got more accomplished in the last year than i expected to.

This is all the stuff rolling around in my head,so glad its coming to fruition...

That and the electric Barracuda...

To be honest, Fabo is my motivational tool to keep picking away at my projects. After Ddaddy did a rendering of my car and put it on the calendar i really want to see it through to the end.

My hopes and dreams! Hoping to get my 67 440 Dart back from my brothers. He took the front end apart to do a disc brake swap and never finished. I cant put on a trailer without reassembling the mess at his house, So I have to load tools up there....PITA....BUT I am getting it back....
yay!!!!!

same. though I've not been doing the big stuff, I've been tinkering with little things like rebuilding door hinges and gauges. Worked on my dash frame. Little **** that I can do at home that really doesnt make a huge difference individually but it adds up.

I've been trying to reach George.....Maybe have to ride out there ...AGAIN........

Yay, Coffee time!. Been up for a while, but had to wait till after I went to see the vampires. No problems (I hope) just been a while since checked and new doc wanted
a bunch of tests run.

Good Morning

Mornin' New ignition switch finally arrived yesterday. Estimated delivery was the 10th. Foolish ebay seller placed a tiny shipping label on the original Standard brand part shelf box. It measures about 2.5 cube, and its' beat up bad! The seller did wrap the switch in bubble wrap. It doesn't appear to be damaged. "Thanks for the minimal effort" in feedback?
USPS does have a rule that everything they handle must measure minimum of 4 inches in one plane but... Nobody knows or follows rules today. Only reason I know of this rule is the lady at my post office who has been there over 30 years. She wouldn't let me ship a cardboard box that measured only 3 inches cube. Anyway...Who knows how many times little box slipped through a gap and hit the floor. My thanks goes to the floor sweeper who found it, picked it up and sent it on its way, even if like a baseball. LOL
