Trick Flow Intake for small block Mopar

-
Is your order in? Luckily I'll have the benefit of seeing some results and reviews before my motor needs one. Price seems reasonable. Few bucks more than an Air Gap.

I was going to comment on how expensive it is but even a victor 340 is around 394.00 now. And even Chevy intakes are up in price. I have one Victor 340, one Super Victor, and two Indy intakes so I’ll have to think about buying one. They sponsor a free race if you have a set of their heads or intakes at the Halloween Classic but even my best set of Edelbrock heads are set up for an Indy intake now.

I'm pulling the trigger today. My plan is to run the Edelbrock Air Gap on the new set up then switch out to the Trick Flow to get a good comparison

cool, finally there´s some progress......i like the design and think i will buy one if finally available. Hopefully they´ll come out with some more race oriented heads, i´d like to see and buy sth. like the Indy-stuff one day.

Michael

It says will be special ordered for you. I wonder if they've all been counted for and you'll go on a list or what.

TrickFlow is part of summit racing and right up the road. If you have noticed over the last five years summit has stocked less and less on their shelves but offered more products. They do this to save money and simply call the vendor and have it drop shipped. Zero stocking fees for summit and they still make money. They then usually put a later shipping date on it so guys don’t call daily asking where their stuff is and guys get excited when it arrives early. If I wanted an exact shipping date in this case I would call TrickFlow and ask expected shipping date.

Yep, a lot of stuff I've order has had "Shipped from manufacturer" on the invoice. Normally it says something like that or at least an estimated shipping date, that's why I wondered if they're catching up on orders. I also wonder if they're going to machine it for injector bungs or if they will.

I wonder how much difference there is between the TFS and the Victor. It almost seems like a mix between a Super Victor and a 340 Victor.

I would like to add to your question. I wonder how it will compare to the Indy Single plane intake. Also wonder if the TF intake will need a lot of porting in the runners or does it come CNC ported from the factory ?

TrickFlow.com
They really don't have a lot of info about it even on their site. May be still working on the description.

In a all out build I seriously doubt it'll make the power the Indy intake will.

Yeah I doubt it was designed to compete against a w style head intake.
I emailed trick flow about the intake around mid November and they said it would be ready in a few weeks.I didn't want to buy a victor if these were going to be released. Glad I waited.Placed my order today.
As many people have said the super victor needs a lot of work.I have one and spent hours making it right.Hats off to trick flow for supporting the Mopar community.

Christmas is next week...and it is my last paycheck for awhile...might have to go out with a bang

If they can make a set of the small block valve covers like they do for the big block, that’d be cool.

Call them and ask. They seem to be loving the Mopar market and listen to suggestions. But if you don’t speak up they won’t know. I’ve bent their ears for years.

Why the red X ?

do you think the TF will be any advantage over say an airgap at lower rpm's under 5000 or will the advantage be 5000 and over .

If you lose bottom end with a SP over a DP you either have the wrong SP or the carb is too big for the SP.

You effectively cut the carb size in half with a DP intake, or you can say you double the carb size going to a SP.

Most guys can run a much smaller carb(s) than they do. And the SP manifold gets blamed for using the wrong carb.

The following is an observation and not in stone. There are variables to the below statement that included engine displacement, excellence of build, meaning street rebuild to professional competition engine, cars weight and how well sorted out the car is in every aspect.

Single planes are normally used with a large size street or smallish competition cam, like 250+@050 where the trade point is around 4500 rpm’s. This translates roughly into a low 11 second 1/4 mile car like a reduced weight A body.

It is (IMO) possible to go faster but way easier to go slower with size duration above.

If your going to use a single plane, build for it. Do not be bothered taking prisoners.
