Drag Truck - trying out the 4.30's

Dude......you're such a mega nerd. Nobody would know you were a badass car guy if they didn't know you. lol That was a compliment. LOL Another cool video.
Officer, you say'n I did a burnie in my Grandpa's truck ????? How brutish of you!!

Nice ! one more piece to the puzzle . of many possible puzzles. lol
traction has me worried...... I have drag radials for it, but it only has a stock 318 and a tight, low-stall truck converter. More converter and more engine... yikes !

The leaf springs are probably a little much. maybe remove a leaf and get a decent shock.

or add a few sand bags you sandbagger. lol
but you don't need the added weight.
The truck needs weight transfer.

Nice, fun truck! Now that I have a ’74 W200 done all tricked out, I’d love to have a 3/4 ton 2 wheel drive.

Just put um right up against the tailgate. Make "something" that will keep them in place.

oh, just thought it was worth mentioning...... Food for Thought...

  • It is often said, stock 318 heads with factory stock valve springs will have valve float around 4500 - 4800 rpms. Engine also has stock cam, actually everything is on the engine is stock except the 4bbl set up and headers. The second burnout in the video @ 2 min 42 seconds of the video is 6,000 rpms. I shift this truck at 5000 rpms, but it will definitely turn more but 5k is where the "sweet spot" seems to be.
