They don’t fill you full of air anymore. Too many colons have popped.

It's an in and out procedure...... haha
Had one 3 years ago. They took 19 polyps out of dad when he was 60, so I went in at 52. Took 3 from me. I've got the pics around here somewhere. Due to go again this year.

My anesthesiologist said he mixed the prep stuff with lemon GatorAid, which he used to love. Said the sight of it even makes him sick now!!!
Worst part for me was the crazy nurse jabbing me multiple times trying to find a vein in the top of my hand. I was probably dehydrated from the prep-why drink more liquids knowing it’s going to blow right through me. After a few minutes, I calmly asked her to try the one in my elbow. She stated she was upset because she didn’t want to start her day like this. I told her I would gladly trade places with her.

I hate gatoraide. they were gonna give me sudo tabs but insurance won't pay for that. Gave me sudo prep instead, this is the first time for me for that stuff. Last time was the old junk, and gatoraide.
The liquid wasn't too bad, no nausea. I'm "in the middle" right now at 4AM no real sleep, and catch the bus at 8:30. I think I said 8 but it's actually at 9AM

I heard from more than a few folks that they wanted to eat right after they got out.
Not me. I felt like I had been punched in the gut from the other end, and the last thing I wanted to do was go somewhere with other people and eat.
I wanted to go home and sleep.

Most doctors offices have samples that they give you, just need to ask. I’ve had about 20 plus procedures since I started having them done at 33. I feel so much better after having them done.
I knew something was different. I never farted one time in the recovery room or on the ride home with my neighbor.
I had mine in 2016. They wouldn't let me leave until I ripped a big fart......Thems' the rules!
Yep. They air you up to keep your colin open for the scope.
My wife got her first colonoscopy about 10 years ago. Within a couple of months, she was passing blood. Back for another colonoscopy and she was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. That put her on Humira and said she would be on it the rest of her life. Humira is an injection pen ($2300.00 each dose) that I had to give her every 14 days. Ever so often, the insurance company would cut her off for pre- approval reasons they said. Once she was off for probably 6 weeks.
I have always read about nutrition and tried to eat healthy. Not her, until I started doing all the meals. Fresh salads and fruit every day, and rarely any beef. And she prayed a lot. So she quit the Humira which infuriated her gastroenerologist. Her doctor sent her a letter stating that since she wouldn't follow orders, she was no longer a patient. She hasn't had any more problems in the last 8 years.
Almost forgot... we also went gluten free as far as we could tell (it's in lots of things you wouldn't guess). The doctor said she did not have Celiac disease, but reading about it, it is very similar to UC and Chron's disease. And a person can be gluten sensitive without having Celiac disease.
During those two years after her first preventive colonoscopy, she barely left home. She had to stay within sprinting distance of a bathroom.

People have become so soft. A colonoscopy could easily save your life, and the prep is no worse than the results of a bad meal. The procedure is painless, and the propofol is the world's greatest nap.

I've WORKED some 70 and 80 hour weeks, and I've BEEN up for more than 24 hours when younger
But this marathon is HARD ON a 74 old man especially after a poorly be'gotten week of not much sleep
I had four different G.I. doctors tell me they don’t do it anymore, they had too many problems people getting punctured.

My doc said to get 3 15 oz bottles of magnesium citrate and to put in a small amount of ginger ale and fire it down around 12 hours before my poke. Stuff wasn't bad at all, and cleared the plumbing out real well. Things went well next day and he said at 72 I wouldn't have to come back again seeing as I've be clear for all 5 of my tunnel checks

I've had 21 surgeries, been septic 3 times, had probably 25-30 upper and lower scopes, had anesthesia at least 40-50 times, and had about 2 weeks worth of "good sleep" in the last 30 years. Keep on, keeping on!!
I also take high-dosage Linzess, daily. It works like a colonoscopy prep.

All I remember was I woke up from a short nap.
Like your life is a edited video tape. Your eyes flutter and the next second you are awake. Somebody advanced the clock just to screw with you.
That's how most people remember a colonoscopy. No big deal.

I was out of the procedure and ready to go home before I was even supposed to go in for it. I was there at 8am for the 9:40 spot and they were running ahead of schedule. The girls didn’t say anything this time but last time when they went to put me out I asked them if they wanted me to sing. They got a good laugh out of that. Luckily I didn’t sing to them because I can’t sing a note on key.

that was actually one of my main complaints, i had the procedure during the mid afternoon, and they woke me up from $1800 nap to send me home, i was not happy about that
(i got kids, i never get to sleep in)

Ive had a colonoscopy done while awake, but that was only once. I recall once he got the scope to a certain spot it hurt a little every time he advanced it farther. Wasn't bad at all. Im not sure but I thought the reason why your sedated is because if the doctor has to remove a polyp
I just had a cystoscopy done a month ago, no sedation given for that. I dodged the bullet for a prostate biopsy thankfully
