Stop in for a cup of coffee

I have friends that launch out of Seiku so pretty close I think. They run right to the Canadian "line in the water" and catch nice fish. I went out of Westport once and didn't enter the derby, same thing, caught what they said might have been the winning fish for the day, oh well!
We have a very funny story about me fishing on the Seiku. And yes it is alcohol related. So we met Jodis family there for some fishing and camping, they all smoke. We all got on the boat and started trolling. I finally gave up trying to get anywhere on the boat upwind of the smoke. They laughed and laughed refusing to take me back. i decided “F” this and Decided to swim for shore, the river was not that wide there and we were up current of camp. Once on shore I set up another rig with appropriate leaders etc then proceeded to toss it and retrieve it like it was a jig and frog setup at home. Game warden cruised down to see what the heck I was doing, my method apparently was unorthodox at best. She heard my accent, saw my method, then looked in my bait cooler (filled with bourbon and beer) and she laughed like a hyena. Anyway I continued fishing and when the family returned to shore they started shredding me for my fishing methods. I simply shrugged, and dead panned with, are ya catching more fish than I am? They were skunked I was not!

I'll look for that thanks! I know I won't be golfing though as you have to maintain a handicap to golf those courses, I'm just a worm burner!
I told Cheryl to be ready because those six rounds in nine days no carts you walk them. At least it's flat.
Each course requires a caddy who carries your bag and keeps you on track...like "here hold my beer a second".

My Great Great Grandfather fought for the confederates @ pea ridge and other places before capture at Vicksburg.
A family connection to events is always interesting.
No idea where my interest in early American history came from, but my interest in WW2 (say vs WW1) defiantely relates in part to family and friends of family.
evening all. Just south of Penascola, FL
Famous site of battles no one remembers!

Busy day. Ted and I ae heading to Prairie Du Chien Wisc. for a bottle run. Starks has a new barrel pick to check out. Got a FABO guy from Des Moines coming up tomorrow for a pair of 302 heads. I have a hood sale in the works as well. I might meet the guy half way for that one just to help him out (and get rid of a hood). He lives in Brainerd, Mn.

So yesterday sucked. Dig the weldr out powers up, good, load it on forks with the SIL amd get it in the cotainer, good. Lay stuff out grind grounds, go to weld spark, then nothing, ok wire is not feededing. Screw with it two hours needs a new liner. OK get the stick welder out only have a few 1/16 rods. Tack the first box up good clamps, good run out of rods, Have to use 1/8 now. Tack the next box up goes through the container. **** it I am done. Hopefully can find some small rods locally today. Liner no way close.

Yea sounds like you had a rough day !

Oh gets better one of the bills I sent out came back. Some how my address was in the window. WTFM!

No liners around at all. Even snap on is out. Might have to buty the whole assy. Not cheap, this one is a bit rough anyhow. Other than this it is the gest welder I have ever had. FM 140 A. Worth it.

Talked to my Farm junkyard guy fast if he had rods. He has a guy he deals with that makes liners!

Good Morning Folks. Not much new here. Warmer again today 38° as a high with a nice week. Sturgeon spearing starts this weekend for those that enjoy throwing tridents at dinosaurs. I feel there are far too many people out on the ice, especially after a week of near 40° and some possible rain. But some wont miss it, super expensive underwater cameras, therma imaging, large TV monitors, etc. $1000's stuck into each set up while I am just trying to decide which Ramen noodles I want for dinner.....
Guess there's no catch and release if you spear 'em, LOL
I did learn how to fillet fish after that boat ride. Those kids on the docks could have a 30 pounder cleaned and filleted in 5 minutes
Was fun watching the guy doing that on our sea bass trip last fall. Made quick work of a cooler full of fish.
I see, that would be the rare 3 eyed Ling Cod!
